"Unbelievable." Ning Tian muttered, letting our a deep disappointed sigh. "It had only been ten thousand years, and yet my clan has fallen so low to the point that they're not even a clan anymore and their surnames had changed into "Ye"."
"How could this have happened?" she grumbled.
"Well, at least there are still Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan members alive. I wonder if any of my family's descendants are still around." Wu Feng said as she took a slice of strawberry shortcake that their husband had prepared for them and shivered in delight.
Feeling bored in their temporary home, both Ning Tian and Wu Feng decided to find the descendants of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan and see how they were doing.
And they were certainly in for a complete surprise.
The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan had fallen apart during the invasion of the Sun Moon Empire and were forced out to migrate into the Star Luo Continent, now becoming a noble family under the Star Luo Empire monarchy.
Their current situation wasn't all bad, especially considering the Tang Sect's situation back in Huo Yuhao's era, but it was still a far cry of their once prestigious status as a great and wealthy clan full of very useful auxiliary soul masters.
Right now, Ning Tian and Wu Feng were at café that was just in front of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Family Manor—a grand and well maintained estate surrounded by well-maintained gardens, guards with Black Mechs and highly advanced security system consisted of numerous soul tools.
From Ning Tian's highly experienced eyes that had seen all kinds of treasures, she could tell that the security system the manor has could easily annihilate anyone below eight rings.
'Hmm. What is this weird feeling? I sense a particularly strong descendant of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, but her martial soul and bloodline feels a bit off. Her martial soul kinda feels like Yuhao's Tower of Eternity, but remains dormant within her. It can only be unlocked through a second awakening? Interesting.'
'Her name...Qing Tan, is it?'
She'll check on that child and tests if she's worthy enough to inherit the Great Pagoda Art.
Ning Tian hummed as she took a sip of her mango milkshake. "The technology of this era is certainly advanced and is catching up to the Divine Realm."
"Well? What do you wanna do, sister Tian?" Wu Feng asked.
"Hm? Whatever do you mean, sister Feng?"
Wu Feng raised an eyebrow. "I'm talking about the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan. Don't you want to meet them?"
Ning Tian closed her eyes, contemplating as she sipped her milkshake.
"...No. It doesn't seem like they're struggling or anything of the sort, so there's no point in interfering. They've managed to survive and even thrive in their own way. This world's clan may have fallen from its peak, but at least they've adapted well."
Wu Feng shrugged, finishing up on her strawberry shortcake. "Fair enough. I guess barging in as their ancient ancestor would just freak them out anyway."
Ning Tian nodded and let out a sigh, looking down at her milkshake. "Truly, anything else besides hubby's creations tastes dull and somewhat tasteless."
"Then just bring out your own packed lunch."
"Hmph! All good things must be reserved for last! I'll eat them later."
Wu Feng gave her a flat look and looked down at her food before looking up at Ning Tian smiling at her.
".... You're going to lord over me about it later, aren't you?"
Ning Tian's smile widened. "Of course. I'll savor every bite right in front of you~"
Wu Feng snorted. "As if I'd let you. I'll just steal a bite before you can gloat!"
Ning Tian chuckled softly. "You can try. It's been a while since I fought you and any of our harem sisters."
Just then, someone entered the café that caused the other patrons to quiet down and stare at her with wide eyes.
It was a young girl about about 12-13 years old with long purple hair and amethyst-like eyes. She was a young beauty with promising potential, exuding a noble and graceful aura that seemed almost unnatural for someone her age.
"Is that... Ah! That's the young miss of the Seven Treasure Glaze Tile Family! Ye Zhe, one of the rising geniuses in the Monster Academy."
"She's a rare genius said to be born every few centuries. Her potential and talent are said to match some of her ancestors; 12 years with the cultivation of a Soul Elder, a top quality spirit and soul rings by at least 500 years old!"
"Their family is going to rise again. Moreover, I heard they recruited a Titled Douluo as well!"
"Do you think she's single...?" A twenty year old man muttered.
"...." Everyone turned to stare at him and quickly raised their soul communicators, calling the cops.
"No wait! I'm kidding!"
Ning Tian narrowed her eyes at Ye Zhi, scrutinizing her for a moment and a strange look appeared on her face.
"What the fuck?"
"Woah. Language!" Wu Feng was shocked to hear Ning Tian use curse words so openly, besides in the bedroom.
As the former sect master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan of her time, Ning Tian was raised to a certain standard befitting of her status as the lady of a great sect renowned throughout the Douluo Continent. Besides using such words when she's with them and with their husband in the bedroom, Ning Tian would never cuss.
"What's wrong?" Wu Feng worriedly asked.
Ning Tian was a bit too stunned to speak, covering her face with one hand she let out a deep sigh.
"....Take a look at the girl."
"Huh? Is something wrong with her?" Wu Feng turned towards Ye Zhi who was ordering from the counter.
She squinted her eyes and shook her head.
"I don't get it."
"Take a closer look. Specifically at her bloodline."
Wu Feng raised an eyebrow and her eyes flashed crimson for a moment.
Although their divinity were sealed and they didn't have their husband's All-Seeing Eyes, their cultivation was still at the outmost limit of what this world could handle—rank 99 Limit Douluo; Quasi-God and peak Spirit Domain Realm. Very few had reached this level of power in this world, and Ning Tian, Wu Feng, and the others could easily defeat those people at the same level simply because they're True Gods.
So at their current cultivation, seeing through a person's soul power, spiritual power, martial soul, and bloodline was quite simple.
"She..." Wu Feng eyes widened and a strange look appeared on her face as well. "What the fuck?!"
It was very faint, diluted to the point it was but a small smidge in her DNA, but within Ye Zhi held a very distinct blood relation with both Ning Tian and Wu Feng! It wasn't blood from relatives, but from their very own!
She's basically their direct descendant.
But that doesn't make sense, since girls can't naturally conceive a child with each other, no matter how powerful or divine they are.
Unless...
Ning Tian put down her milkshake and clasped her fingers together, a dark expression on her face.
"Looks like in this world, Wulin isn't the only one who got genderbended."
Wu Feng stared at her.
"I'm definitely top."
"Shut up!"
Sun Moon Federation—Heaven Dou City, located in a cafe shop. Several incredibly beautiful women sat together, discussing family stuff.
"....They've all died out over a millennia ago," Nan Qiuqiu muttered, a sad look on her face as she slumped over her table.
Ye Guyi patted her back and said, "I'm sorry, Qiuqiu. But this is a different reality after all, the fate of your family's descendants might differ in ours. After all, you're a God! You've invigorated their bloodline that would last for thousands of years."
She then turned towards Xiao Xiao, whose family-line had died out much earlier than Nan Qiuqiu. "Yours as well!"
Xiao Xiao gave a faint smile. "Thank you, Guyi. But I'm not that much sad, unlike Qiuqiu's family, mine mainly deals with businesses than being a soul master family. Even when I became a God and I offered my parents and my siblings a chance of Immortality, they refused."
"They didn't have lofty ambitions or dreams of power. They just wanted to live peaceful, normal lives. I respected their choice, even if it meant that the family's soul master legacy would fade away over time."
She let out a sigh. "It's been well over a thousand years now, and I still miss them. I hope their next lives would be peaceful, and that my parents would meet once more."
Nan Qiuqiu sighed again, burying her face in her arms. "I just thought... maybe some of them would still be around. It sucks knowing that everything I fought to protect just... vanished."
Back in their reality. Huo Yuhao, his family and friends had unanimously agreed to never meddle in the affairs of the mortal world unless a divine threat that concerns the world would occur.
However, they can still take some glimpses into the world once in a while.
Nan Qiuqiu's family, or the Earthdragon Sect that had been integrated together with the Akatsuki as part of the Dragon Unit, were thriving and last she checked up on them there were even five Titled Douluos among her family descendants.
So seeing the complete disappearance of her sect in this reality hit harder than she expected. Nan Qiuqiu couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt, as if she had somehow failed them despite knowing it wasn't her fault.
Ye Guyi gave her a comforting nudge. "Hey, don't beat yourself up. It's not like you could've done anything to change it. Different realities mean different circumstances. Maybe in this world, they just didn't get the chance to grow the same way."
Xiao Xiao chimed in, offering a small smile. "Yeah, and who knows, they might resurface one day. People's martial soul is always random outside of families and clans; there's always a small chance they might awaken one of your sect's martial souls and maybe they'll find the Earthdragon sect's inheritance."
It was a huge if, the chance was extremely small that someone with a trash martial soul becoming a Limit Douluo within 10 years is much more likely to happen.
But Ye Guyi and Xiao Xiao knew their husband can do something about it, especially if it meant making his wives happy.
Happy wife, happy life. Vice versa as well.
Nan Qiuqiu managed a weak smile. "I guess... I just can't help but wonder how fleeting time is and how things constantly change. I just can't help but lament how everything I fought so hard to protect eventually faded away. It makes me question what it all meant in the end."
"...Isn't that a good thing?"
"Sister Xiaotao?" Nan Qiuqiu and the others turned towards Ma Xiaotao, calmly enjoying her coffee.
Ma Xiaotao calmly placed down her coffee and said, "All things must come to an end—even Gods, that's what our husband had said. As a Supreme that had peered towards the "Truth", he has knowledge and experience beyond most Gods. He has seen and grasped many concepts that we can't even begin to fathom.
One of the most important things he taught us is that change is the only constant in the universe. Holding onto something forever is against the natural order."
'We cannot live forever. Yuhao had shown me and some of the others the result of a universe with its populace that doesn't "dies". It becomes a wretched cancer of flesh and corruption.' Ma Xiaotao secretly thought.
Nan Qiuqiu looked down at her hands, her thoughts a tangled mess. "I know that.... but it still hurts. I thought that becoming a god meant I'd be above all that—beyond grief and loss."
Ma Xiaotao smiled gently. "Being a god doesn't mean abandoning your humanity or your emotions. In fact, it's the opposite. We may have transcended mortality, but we still feel, we still care. It's precisely because you loved your clan so much that it hurts to see their legacy fade."
Ye Guyi nodded, resting her chin on her hand. "And that's okay. You're allowed to feel sad about it. But don't forget—we're still here. Your sisters, your husband, your family. We'll always be with you, no matter how much the universe changes."
Xiao Xiao gave a small smile. "And knowing hubby, if you asked him to find a way to rekindle the Earthdragon Sect's spirit, he'd probably do it without a second thought. You know how he is when it comes to making us happy."
Nan Qiuqiu giggled. "That's true."
Ma Xiaotao faintly smiled and glanced at the last remaining member of their group, who had been strangely silent for a while with a dazed look on her face.
"Yaya? Is something the matter?"
"Hm?" Tang Ya snapped out of her thoughts and looked up to find her sisters staring at her.
She wryly smiled, "Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. What were we talking about?"
"....We were talking about Qiuqiu being a big baby."
"Hey!"
"But now we're going to be talking about you."
Tang Ya blinked, confused. "Eh? Why?"
Ma Xiaotao raised an eyebrow, the others gave Tang Ya a flat stare.
Tang Ya sighed. "....I was just thinking about Tang Sect. And how in this world, it rose up once more and became a powerful organization spread all throughout the world."
Ma Xiaotao and the others went silent at the admission. Just like Ning Tian and Wu Feng, they went out in the world to find what their "descendants" were doing in this reality.
Nan Qiuqiu and Xiao Xiao were obvious. Ye Guyi's descendants on the other hand were doing well, the Angel Clan had finally resurfaced and are known to be a military family stationed in the Southern Region of the Sun Moon Federation.
Strangely enough, when she went there to take a look, she found a very interesting child; one would argue that she was one born once in every ten thousand years!
She bears an extremely frightening martial soul—a fusion between two extreme opposites to the other; one of light and the other dark. The Holy Angel martial soul and the Fallen Angel martial soul, fused to become the first God-tier martial soul since the disappearance of the God Realm—
The Nephilim.
It was an unprecedented situation that Ye Guyi was sure it was first in the entire history of Douluo, whether in this reality or theirs.
Strangely enough, her name was the same as the former Angel God—
Qian Renxue.
For Ma Xiaotao, she trying to see if she had descendants here or if someone else had inherited the same martial soul as hers.
Turns out, she didn't have any descendants! The Ma Xiaotao here had died without marrying anyone nor having children. Unfortunate. But there was someone who has the same martial soul as her... But unfortunately, she was part of a fucking cult.
Was the Evil Fire Phoenix really cursed?!
And Tang Ya.... she was only interested to see if she had descendants.
She certainly didn't expect for Tang Sect to be present and extremely prosperous than ever before in their reality.
