Going back a little, before the battle between Tensai and Shimogawa above the Central Hospital—Fuse had caught a glimpse of a shadow slipping through the entrance of the Low Class wing and vanishing up the stairs toward the school's rooftop.
Fuse thought maybe that shadow was the culprit behind Chairman Rizky's collapse—and without hesitation, he gave chase.
"Oii! Wait!!"
Fuse sprinted after the figure, Iliya running at his side, racing up the stairs until they burst through the rooftop door—only for something sharp to pierce Fuse's stomach the moment he pushed it open.
"W-What the...?!"
He staggered back in shock, staring down at the pointed object sticking out of his stomach.It looked like a spike formed straight from the rooftop itself.Behind him, Iliya gasped.
"Master!!"
Fuse could only stare in horror as the spike faded back into the flat rooftop, leaving no visible hole in his body—only a deep, painful bruise.
A voice called out from ahead.
"Relax. You won't die."
Standing before Fuse was a cloaked figure whose face was hidden beneath a hood.
Fuse collapsed onto the ground, clutching his bruised stomach. Iliya rushed to his side.
"Master... Are you alright?!"
"Y-Yeah... I'm fine..."
The pain was strange—severe, but not fatal.It reminded him of the data-based attacks that Kirihaya had explained: injuries that caused real pain, but no real wounds—attacks that could still kill if the brain was overwhelmed by pain shock.
With Iliya's help, Fuse slowly stood back up, facing the cloaked figure.
"Who are you?! What are you doing here?! Did you make Chairman Rizky collapse?!"
The figure answered calmly.
"No. He collapsed on his own."
The stranger removed her cloak, revealing a young woman dressed like an office worker, her braided hair wrapped neatly behind her head.In her hand, she held a strange spherical device.
"I was supposed to leave after my work was done," she said casually, "but curiosity got the better of me... I stayed to watch—and got caught."
She tucked the device back under her coat, continuing with a sly grin.
"Now that I've been spotted... well, maybe if I bring you back, my boss won't be so mad."
"B-Bring... me?!"
Before she could act, Iliya lunged forward, aiming a kick at the woman—but she was ready.
Effortlessly, she pulled a whip from her robe and snapped it around Iliya's leg mid-air.With a flick, she slammed Iliya down hard onto the rooftop.
"Iliya!!"
Fuse tried to move, but his body, weakened by the earlier injury, refused to cooperate.He watched helplessly as his maid was thrown to the ground.
Still, he refused to give up.
Fuse summoned his strength and ran toward the woman, recalling what Kirihaya had taught him—that he, too, could access "data" abilities.
Raising his right hand, he shouted:
"Green Laser Data Access!!"
Streams of green coding erupted from both his hands, forming a laser blast aimed straight at the woman.
In response, she stomped her foot against the ground.
"Change Access: Defense!"
The rooftop beneath her rose up, forming a wall that blocked Fuse's laser just in time.Not wasting a moment, she commanded:
"Attack!"
The defensive wall twisted and surged toward Fuse like a living creature.But Fuse had already pivoted, breaking to the right, charging toward Iliya instead.
"Chase him!!"
The wall sprouted a branch, twisting midair to follow Fuse's new path.
"What the hell?!"Fuse pushed himself harder, ignoring the pain, racing for Iliya.But just before reaching her, he was struck by the wall and sent tumbling across the rooftop.
As the dust settled, the woman smirked—until she heard fast, heavy footsteps.Suddenly, Iliya, furious and unbroken, charged her from the side.
The woman blinked in confusion—this android should've been down for good.
With a swift and brutal kick, Iliya struck the woman squarely in the face, sending her sprawling.
"You hurt my master twice already... I won't forgive you!"
The woman wiped the blood from her lips and sneered.
"Don't worry," she said coldly. "I won't just hurt him twice—I'll hurt him as many times as it takes."
The battle raged on.
Iliya leapt high into the air to avoid the woman's ground attacks, but the woman lashed her whip again, this time embedding sharp, metallic thorns into Iliya's leg.Sparks flew from Iliya's damaged limb, but she fought to stay conscious.
Before she could react, a second trap activated—A data-triggered floor spike smashed Iliya down with brutal force.
The sound of impact echoed across the rooftop.
Despite her battered frame, Iliya's voice still rang out defiantly.
"You... you're the Beastmaster Hedgehog, Selena, aren't you?!"
The woman—Selena—was stunned the android still had the strength to speak.
"So what if I am?" Selena spat back.
"What are you doing here?!"
Selena smirked, pulling out the spherical device once more.
"My boss, Goro the Snake Man, sent me.I was tasked with spreading 'visual narcotics'—dreams so vivid they trap people in illusions of a lost paradise."
Hearing that name—Goro—made Fuse's blood boil.That name was tied to a painful past he would never forget.
Fighting through his pain, he staggered back to his feet.
"Hey... you!!"
Selena flinched, startled by Fuse's burning fury.
"Are the people collapsing in the city... is it because of you and your boss?!"
"Yeah! Half the city's asleep, lost in their own dreams, thanks to us!"
"Shut up!!!"Fuse's scream cut through the rooftop like thunder.
"I won't let this continue! I'll crush your twisted dreams—and your boss too!!"
"Iliya! Can you still fight?!"
"Yes, Master!"
Iliya stood, bruised but determined, beside him.
"Alright... let's finish this!"
"Roger that, Master!!"
With perfect synchronicity, Iliya and Fuse launched their final assault.
Iliya soared through the air while Fuse unleashed another barrage of green laser data.
Selena deflected what she could with her whip—but she was overwhelmed.
While she was distracted, Fuse sprinted forward, grabbing the whip with both hands, even as thorns pierced his skin.
"You're wide open!!"Above her, Iliya charged her next attack.
"Elemental Access: Water Drill!!"
A spiraling torrent of water erupted from Iliya's leg, smashing through Selena's defenses and driving her into the ground with a brutal kick straight to the chest.
Selena coughed up blood—and fell unconscious.
Fuse wasted no time.He destroyed the spherical device—the source of the visual narcotics—beneath his foot.
With newfound resolve burning in his heart, Fuse clenched his fist.
The fight wasn't over.
Next, he would face Goro—the Snake Man himself.
And this time, he would win.
