Lilac Serval's eyes swiveled, and she said with a laugh, "Brother Mcintosh, I've recorded everything you just said, if you go back on your word, I'll go find our master."
She knew Charles Mcintosh had always respected their master.
The master had been generous to him too.
"Fine," Charles Mcintosh didn't argue, "the recording is legally effective."
"Why sell it to me?" Lilac Serval still pursued the question, knowing Charles Mcintosh wasn't stupid and was shrewd.
"Didn't you say you don't like people who go against you? I certainly don't want to become someone you dislike."
"Just like that?"
"Just like that."
"You're not going to cheat me when selling the house, are you? Have me sign some messy contract?"
"I, Charles Mcintosh, conduct affairs above board, and wouldn't stoop to scamming a naive woman."
"Bullshit!"
Damn it, Lilac Serval couldn't hold back and almost kicked over the tea table.
