Xii Ling - "Seriously, just like that?"
Monica seems to regret something. She hold the ice cream cup. It's just 5 minutes ago, she said all those awful things to him.
Monica - " Ling, can't I be greedy? I mean, I always look after other. So, am I allowed to be greedy just for once?"
Xii Ling stares at Monica and she nods.
Xii Ling - " Yeah, of course. You deserve to at least be greedy for once, Mon."
That answer finally makes Monica came to a realization. She gives Xii Ling a bright smile. Looks like she finally come to a conclusion which makes her happy.
Monica - " Thanks. I have to go now. Can you pay the ice cream? I need to chase after him."
Xii Ling(Surprised) - "Okay, but next time it'll be your treat. This time, make sure you cherish him. I believe in you, Mon."
Monica smiles and run along the street. She seems knew where she must go. She run like a mad person. After a couple of minutes, she looks at her watch. She finally in front of his house. She can almost hear her heartbeat. Later, she hears a voice calling out for him.
Anonymous - "Hmm.. May I help you, miss?"
She looked at the owner of the voice. What an elegant and pretty middle aged woman in front of her. She seems gardening at her backyard.
Monica - " Can I talk to you, Madam?"
The women smiles and open the door of the backyard so, Monica can come in. There, Monica see a small garden of white lily and lavender although it look small but you can felt the sincerity from the gardener to the flowers.
Monica - "Can I ask you something? Are you the one that plant those flowers, madam?"
Madam - "It's not me.. It's my son. He planted those flowers since he met with that little girl that carried about a bouquet of white lily and lavender that day. I still remember that day. He said to me, that one day he will bring me that girl as his bride."
Monica (Blushing) - " Hi..his bride?"
Madam - " Yeah, he told me he fell in love with that girl within just 3 seconds. And then I told him, it's not love but somehow he still in love with that girl. But suddenly he asks me to cut all the flowers he planted before."
Monica - " Why?"
Madam - " Two years ago, he came running to me and told me that he finally found the girl once again. Even myself, I'd forgot but he patiently waiting for a right time to confess to her. I remembered he used to carry a bouquet of white lily and lavender to confess to her yet, he returned with nothing on his hand. He looks sad like this day too. It seems the girl he loves doesn't returned his feelings. Ha.."
Monica - " Wait, used to? Why he didn't confess to her?"
Madam - " He told me he just left the bouquet on her desk. He said that he didn't confess because the girl he loved has a feeling for another guy so, he stopped. Later, for this few weeks, he seems to be very lively. Yet, ha... He comes home with a tears on his eyes. As his parent, it just sad to watch him like that."
A drop of tears seems coming out from her eyes. She covers her mouth with her hand. She seems can't hold it anymore. Listening to that voice, he suddenly stands then he looks out the window. He see Monica and quickly goes down to his backyard.
Tap..tap..tap
The sound of footsteps makes Monica turns to where the sound come from. She stunned. Without she realizes, she hugged that man. She hugged him tightly like she doesn't want to let him go.
The man - " Mon, why you're here? What are you doing here?"
The man then looks at his small garden and turns to his mother.
The man(Shocked) - " Mom, didn't I told to cut off all the flowers? Why it still here?"
Monica - " Sob..sob.."
The man - "Mon, why you're crying? I don't blame you so, please stop crying."
Monica kept hugging him makes him didn't know what to do.
The man - " It's not your fault, it's mine. I am sorry.. Please stop crying... It's alright.. It's fine."
The statement makes Monica cried even more. He patted her back. Then, she hit his chest but it doesn't hurt. It looks like a love quarrel instead.
Monica - " You stupid! Dumb! Dumb! Why do you make me like this? You stupid!! Sob..sob.."
The man (Smiles) - " Yeah, I'm stupid for falling for you.
Monica - " Stupid, why you said that? Sob..sob.."
The man - " Why? Indeed I am the stupid one."
Monica - " Then, it'd makes me even dumber for falling for you.. You stupid..Sob..sob..sob"
He pushes her gently and looked at her eyes.
The man - " Is this true? Not a joke anymore? Or you are mad again and couldn't think straight?"
Monica - " Of course it's true. I am sorry, I was selfish for thinking that I can live without you. I love you, Mike. I love you, I really..really love you."
Mike(Shocked) - " Tell me again."
Monica - " Sob..sob .. I love you.."
Mike(Still shocked) - " Again.."
Monica - " Sob..sob.. sob.. I love you, Mike.."
Mike - " Again.."
Monica - " I love you, I love you, I love you.. I really love you.. You stupid, damn Mike..
Mike (Happy) - Hehe.. Okay, I am sorry for asking you to repeat these words too."
After a while, she still in between his arms. He still hugged her and there she was so quiet.
Monica's thought - 'The hell?!!! I'm crying in front of him. So embarrassing!!!!! I can't get out of this... How I can face him right now? I wish I can fainted here.'
Mike's thought - 'Why is she so quiet? Did she sleep? I should take her inside..'
He carry Monica to his bedroom and touches her forehead with his hand.
Monica's thought - ' I'm gonna die out of embarrassment. Why he takes me to his room? Ahhhh!!!'
Mike's thought - ' Her forehead was hot.. Is she sick again? I should stay with her all the night then.'
Monica's thought - 'Please, can't somebody help me..'
