Jumping when the alarm peels out, Diandra was still groggy from the lack of sleep, but having no choice she crawl out of the bed.
In the kitchen packing his bag first for church, then prepares his tea, and take a sandwich and places it in the plate.
Taking up the tray, Diandra return to the bedroom to wake him.
It took her a good fifteen minutes before he wakes up, now the task is to get him to brush his teeth. Accomplishing that first task then give him a warm bath and change him.
Hurrying, Diandra seeing the time was going quickly, giving him the plate, as he eats she bathe and dress.
We were just walking down the steps when the doorbell rings. Holding his hand as she open the door, knowing it was Maria, "Good morning Maria."
Hearing him squealing saying Granma, Granma, "Good morning honey," without answering Maria, Champ ran towards the van.
"Champ, stops that running now," but Maria had already reached to his side holding his hand, as Diandra get his bag and her folder from the study.
Reaching the van hearing Maria ask, "Are you in charge of the Sunday School class today Dee?"
"Yes," Diandra replies, then enters inside the van kissing Sam, "Good morning Sam, Champ honey, did you tell grandpa, good morning?"
"Good morning Granpa, good morning Gramma."
Hearing them both saying to Champ together, "Good morning honey," but then Sam keep looking outside the window.
Diandra glimpse at him a few times wondering, 'What brought about that and why he is so quiet?
It is only when something is bothering him, he doesn't talk, but on Sunday's he is always so talkative.' "Sam!" hearing him responds so quickly.
"Yes, Princess."
"Sam, is something bothering you?"
When he did speak, Diandra was almost blown away, "Dee, I was thinking, Maria and I wanted to take Champ with us on our vacation."
Seeing the shock on her face, "Dee, you will have sufficient time to complete your spring cleaning."
"I am sorry Sam, you are asking me to do an impossible thing."
"Please Dee, I am serious."
"Sam, he is all that I have, I will miss him dreadfully."
"Dee, I cannot live without him, just having him near me gives me strength."
"I will think about it Sam, but I am not promising you anything."
Listening to both conversing, Maria drives, thinking without Champ we are incomplete, he is more to us than our own grand's.
"Dee, please, I promise to take good care of him, and you will not get another opportunity as now to do your cleaning until the August vacation.
And beside Margaret want to see him so much, her two boys are over fifteen, I beg you please send him with us."
"Okay, I've heard enough, but you have to promise me, Maria, if he gives any trouble, you will let me know?"
"I promise to take good care with him, and anything, I will let you know."
Sam hugs her, "We promise you my Princess, and if we ever had another daughter, I hope she would have been just like you."
"Now, I am really hurt, all this time I thought I was your daughter?"
"I am sorry love, but you are my Princess."
Hugging him once more, "You know Sam, I really never knew my father, I was only five years old when he died and most of the time he was never home.
It was always Mom and I, and when dad died we had no money. When mom started to get sick, it was such a trying time.
I never had the opportunity to get an education. Most of the time we had to struggle to get a meal just to survive."
Noticing she was about to cry, Sam stroke her face, "That is all over now Princess, we are here for you." Thinking, 'This is good, she has never said anything about her pass.'
"Sam, you and Marie have done so much for me, you two have gone beyond the call of a parent duty."
"Sweetie, you are my Princess, and don't you ever forget that, you and Ken have been a blessing, and have given Marie and I more than our own children."
Entering the church Diandra bend and kiss Champ, "Mummy will be back soon, be good and sit with grandpa."
Standing in her gown at the altar, together with the other members from the choir. 'He is so smart and brave, he knows I will be up here,' seeing his little hand wave, I wave back to him sending a kiss.
After worship, right before the Minister came on, Diandra took all the children to the back.
Service was over at ten, Champ and I had lunch with Maria then we went home.
The new week begins very busy, Monday and Tuesday Diandra stayed with Sam, as Maria goes to her Massage parlor.
Wednesday Diandra work with Ken which was very exhausting, Thursday morning as she listen to her messages, she take note then begin with her baking.
When was two o clock, the doorbell started ringing and did not stop until it was half five?
Leaving the door unlock, she relax on the couch knowing Maria will be here with Champ any minute.
Relaxing she counted her money, "Six hundred not bad for my days' work," fixing it neatly tying it with a rubber band then replace it into the box and rest back.
Hearing the six bang, 'Marie will be here any minute now if only I had someone to massage my foot, but never mind that. I could sleep late tomorrow seeing that today was the last day of school.'
With her eyes close when Sam's word flashes back to mind, recalling that tomorrow Sam and Maria will be leaving for their vacation.
Sitting upright as her eyes flip open thinking, 'My week was so hectic I hardly had time to think about it.
'Oh Lord how am I going to survive without him? I was thinking he will miss them but the table has turned.'
