The other spectators, who had been originally watching the drama unfold, saw what was happening and slowly dispersed, finding their own seats to sit down. However, many apprentices brought by the wizards were looking at Richard with a mix of admiration and curiosity in their eyes. Richard sensed this and immediately gave them a cold stare, causing them to lower their heads and not daring to make eye contact.
The reason for this was that Richard had always maintained a not-so-beneficial identity—it was possible to interact with others, but very hard to become friends. After all, he did not want to get too close to the people at the gathering place, as that would bring considerable trouble.
So, Richard continued to sit in his seat with a cold demeanor until the exchange meeting officially started.
