Chapter 1 - episode 1, chapter 1

...Silence.

"...Huh? Where am I?"

I looked around — left, right, up, down. Nothing but white.

"I was just at the lab... Hello? Anybody?!"

A deep, calm voice answered, "Hohoho… easy, child. You're in my place now."

I turned toward the sound. "Who are you? Where am I?"

The voice was warm, almost amused. "First, tell me… what do you remember before arriving here?"

"I… I remember working. I was at the lab, finishing the vaccine… and then… I don't know. Everything goes blank."

The voice grew gentler. "That's right. You worked hard. But you collapsed from exhaustion. You hit your head on the table. And… you died."

My heart stopped. "I… I'm dead?!"

"Yes, but don't be afraid. Your death wasn't in vain. The vaccine you were developing? It worked. COVID-19 was cured. Many lives were saved because of your efforts."

Relief and sadness tangled in my chest. "So… my work paid off in the end... Are you—God?"

"I am. And now, child, the choice is yours. You may go to heaven… or—"

"Or what?" I asked, leaning forward.

"You may transmigrate. Reincarnate into a world of your choosing."

My heart skipped. "Do I get wishes?"

"Three. And choosing your world does not count as one."

I thought for a long moment.

Then I looked up. "I've decided. I want to transmigrate into The Walking Dead game universe — in Macon, so I can meet Lee and Clementine."

"And your wishes?"

"My first wish is a Store System — I earn points by killing walkers. With points, I can buy food, drinks, weapons, and upgrade my stats like strength and agility.Second, I want 10 daily points, with the option to upgrade how many I earn.Third, I want to keep my memories and have a healthy 25-year-old body — plus a house stocked with food and supplies."

God chuckled. "So be it. Good luck, child. Enjoy the world you've chosen."

A flash of light blinded me. When I opened my eyes, I was in a room.

A real room.

I ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror.

"Whoa…"

Black hair. Blue eyes. 6'2", lean and muscular. I even sounded cool. I smirked.

"Damn… it's even bigger than before," I joked with a grin.

But then, pain surged through my head — memories flooding in.

"Aaarrgghhh!"

I stumbled.

"I'm Jack... Jack Lied. 25 years old. Only child. My parents… they died from illness." I stared into the mirror, eyes darkening.

Shaking it off, I said, "System. Show me the Store."

Ding!

I imagined an inventory screen. Poof. There it was.

When I touched the Glock, it materialized in my hand. Full mag: 15 rounds.

"Nice."

Just then… I heard screaming outside.

"ARRGHH!! RUN!!!"

I ran to barricade the door and windows. Then I searched the house. Found:

12 cans of food

2 bottles of mineral water

Flashlight & 5 batteries

A bag

3 knives

1 machete

Stuffed them all in the bag.

"Looks like the outbreak already started… No gun for now — I'll stick to melee."

Suddenly—SMASH!

A window shattered. Walkers!

"Shit!"

I grabbed my machete, slashed one walker's skull clean in half, then kicked another's leg to trip it before slicing its head vertically.

"Jane's technique works."

Gunshots echoed nearby — the walkers turned toward the noise and shuffled away.

"I'm saved… for now. Time to reinforce."

I spent the next hour securing the windows. The streets outside eventually went quiet.

"Done. If I'm right… tomorrow is the day Lee and Kenny arrive in Macon."

I looked out at the darkening sky.

"Better rest. Big day ahead."
