Chapter 3 - Riverdale

Kage was slowly regaining consciousness however this time he awoke with a roof above his head.
"So your awake" a voice from his left said. Looking to where said voice is he saw a young man looking to be in his early twenties with dark brown hair, blue eyes, and a medium build overall.
"Where am I?" Kage asked groggily keeping his eyes on the stranger still weary of his possible capture.
"Your in the town hospital no need to worry" the young man said trying to give a friendly smile that came off more ominous than anything else.
Seeing the weird smile on the man's face kage decided to proceed with caution, but still gather more information .
"So who are you and how did I get here?" kage asked still suspicious of the man though this was quit obvious as he had no social skills.
"My name is Ray and I was returning from a solo gig I did for the guild when I saw you lying on the ground next to a dead hellcat.
"Well thank you Ray, but I need to find a place to stay for the night so I must be on my way."Kage said trying to get away as soon as possible still tring to figure this man out as he seemed kind, but kage knew to well of the masks people can wear while planning to betray someone.
"Hey if you need somewhere to stay i can show you this inn nearby as from what i've gathered you don't have much money." Ray said this standing up and walking after kage after paying the doctor for him.
"Fine I guess I can check it out." kage said reluctantly knowing that it would be to risky to sleep outside after his earlier experience in the forest.
After the pair left the hospital they began walking down the street looking at the different shops and stands around the small town soon they arrived at the silver moon inn.
The pair walked into the inn with Ray taking the lead asking for two rooms for the next few nights and before kage could even protest he gad paid a total of two gold pieces.
"Why did you do that I could have figured something out on my own." kage whispered a little annoyed now as he hated being in debt, and this also made him more suspicious of Ray.
"Its because your reckless." Ray said bluntly knowing that someone as badly injured as kage was after fighting a hellcat had to be weaker than an intermediate tier.
"Th-thanks I guess."Kage said taking his room key and walking up the stairs. After entering his room he sat on the bed and began trying to figure out what those messages were he saw during his fight as well as what they mean. To his surprise as he started thinking of these things a new message appeared.

Kage tried to click the option yes but as he did he felt nothing but air as it switched to yes and began to list his stats.









"Okay so what does all of this mean?" Kage asked himself unsure of the screen before him.
As kage thought to himself one thing stood out to himself more than the rest and that was his race why was he classified as a human, and does this mean he can become something nonhuman?.
He decided to close the screen and explore the town a bit more heading down different paths and as he came closer to the edge lf town he heard a scream.
Kage ran towards the screams and as they became louder he could see a woman with a child behind her and in her front what appeared to be a wolf.
The wolf lunged at the woman bearing its fangs ready for its next meal when out of nowhere it crashed to the ground with a teenaged boy on top he had jet black hair and was a medium build.
"Back away" kage said struggling to hold the wolf back its claws scratching his arms and torso while it tried finding a better position of attack.

As the wolf and boy were entangled in a brawl to the death the woman slowly retreated into a tree. Unable to move much further she held her breath and stayed as quiet as possible
