I went back to the palace and I had a room cleaned and decorated for her, I ordered the maids to always obey whatever she says. Her room is just a block away from mine, my father will never let me have it near.
The next day, I did my daily routine, I went to the chivalry and trained the soon to be knights there. After finishing the things i have to do there, I'm gonna go pick Samantha and head to the palace.
I mounted my horse and rode towards Samantha's house, I saw her mother, I greeted and she smiled, Samantha got all her beautiful features from her, she's quiet and really pretty and hardly speaks when I'm here.
"Errrm... I'm here to take Samantha to the palace" I said and she furrowed her brows, I explained to her that she has to learn the royal etiquette and also to stay in the palace to be safe.
"I think you should ask her father first" she said, that has always been her line whenever I tell her what I want to do with Samantha.
"Yeah, I saw him yesterday and he said he's fine with it... so I can only go ahead if you are fine with it?" I asked and she shrugs her shoulders.
"If Robert is fine with it, I'm fine with it too" she said with a faint smile but I can sense she doesn't want her daughter to leave, she ushered me in and I saw Samantha, she's sowing the gown she wore yesterday, it must have torn when she's trying to escape from those guys. She stood up when she saw me and bowed.
"Go pack your things Sam, you are going with the Prince" Kendra, her mother said and she glanced at both of us.
"Going where mother?" She asked in her cool tiny voice.
"You'll have to stay in the palace now, for your safety" kendra said
"But mother_" she tried to object and her mother glared at her, she slowly turned and went inside her room, kendra gave me an apologetic smile and followed her inside. I heard them whispering and she later came out with a sack, that has her clothes and books I guess.
She followed me out and hugged her mother, I saw how they fought the urge not to cry, I know she'll miss her mother but her safety is more important.
I carried her on the horse and we went to the palace, after she greeted my parent, I took her to her room.
"Do you like it?" I asked her and she nodded without even looking at it.
"You didn't even look at it" I said and she glanced at it and bowed before nodding again, I took her sack from her and dropped it, I made her face me and raised her chin to look at me.
"You are upset?" I asked but she didn't answer
"I only did this to protect you, I didn't mean to separate you from your mother" I said and I saw tears stream down her face, I raised her chin again to make her look at me.
"She... She'll be lonely with no one to help her, father is always busy in the workshop" she said and I wiped her tears
"I assure you she'll be fine, I will send people to help her out with the chores, you don't have to worry" I said and sat her down. "Just relax and join us for supper soon" I said and she nodded. I left her room after glancing at her.
I walked towards my room, I wonder what I can do to make her free with me, she hardly talks or smiles, she was never like this until she was told about our arranged marriage. Why do i keep getting the feeling that she doesn't want me? I have to do something
I went to the servant quarters, since my sisters got married the palace has been less interesting, I miss my sisters a lot and I'm the only child left in the palace with my parent. After checking out if everything is the way it suppose to be, I went to the dungeon, I need to have a chat with those bastards that made Sam cry. I walked down the dark stairway, when I got to the passage, I took a torch hanging on the wall and I walked towards where they are locked up, when the guards saw me they bowed and hit their spear on the ground forming a rhythm, it makes the prisoners aware of the arrival of any member of the royal family.
When I got to the cell, I hung the torch on the wall and the guard opened the iron door to the cell, I drew a stool closer with my leg and sat on it as I faced the two miscreant. The guards have already done a wonderful work on them by torturing them, they have injuries and dried blood all over but that won't stop me from torturing them the more. They both looked down in fear when they saw me.
"Your names and from which family?" I asked sternly and they glanced at each other.
"I'm Albert, this is my brother Asher, we are from Hucrea!" He said and I stomp my feet angrily.
"You bastards are not from this kingdom yet you tried to come harrass my woman?" I roared and they whimpered.
"We are sorry, we had no idea you are the Prince of this kingdom" Allen said
"This isn't about me"
"We didn't know she's your fiancée, please forgive us" Albert pleaded.
"Samantha or any other girl in my kingdom doesn't deserve to be abused, I'm going to make you two suffer" I said and stormed out in anger. I don't want to deal with them yet, if I do it now in my angry state, I'll kill them and I don't want them to die yet, I want to spill their blood drop by drop for making an attempt on Sam. I went back to the palace and freshened up, I dried my dirty blond hair. It's time for supper, I went to the dining room and we awaited Samantha's arrival, no one in the Theodore family eats when we are incomplete, once we start eating, that person won't be eating supper that night. My parent glanced at me again and I shot them an apologetic smile, my father has a short temper. I stood up and went to her room, I wanted to just go on but I stopped and knocked.
"Come in" I heard her faintly and I opened the door, she's still seated where I left her, she hasn't even arranged her things, everywhere is still the way I left it. She stood up with her head bowed and her long blond hair covered her face.
"It's time for supper" I said.
"Okay" she said and I took her hand and headed to the dining room.
I kept looking at her as she eats, I can tell that She's enjoying her food but her face isn't holding any happiness.
This went on for days, she's gloomy and hardly talks, I noticed she only talks when Amanda, one of the maids is with her, they are pretty close now. I made sure her mother doesn't go through any form of stress at home, I send maids to help her out everyday.
