10 hours earlier...
Faint murmurs resounded from the sturdy door ahead of me as I raised the keypad guard and punched in the password. It was on the later part of the morning when most people were at work, so I hadn't expected anyone to be home.
"Hmm? Oh, Darien! You're home early! Did you decide to spend the day with me instead? I knew you'd see reason to—" Orion voices cheerfully as he springs upright on his seat on the sofa, before peering over the back of the seat and immediately trailing off.
"Hmph, where'd the rest of the enthusiasm go?" I smirked deviously at Orion as the smile on the latter's face immediately disappeared.
"Weren't you supposed to be gone till the end of summer break?" Orion begrudgingly points out as I set my bags down by the entryway and shut the door behind me.
"Work wrapped up early," I smiled knowingly, "So I decided to spend the rest of my vacation with my lover." I took another step into the room as Orion's expression immediately sours.
