A large gathering of Members of the Chen Family surrounded the area, for today was the grand succession ceremony of the new Chen Family Patriarch. Anyone from the Chen Family Headquarters who could spare the time, as well as powerful non-family allies dependent on the Chen Family, would come to witness the event.
The succession ceremony was presided over by Chen Zhiyi, with the Elders Council, led by the Third Elder, serving as witnesses. The guests in attendance were just Zhe Shaoze and Han Mo.
This was the result of a discussion between Chen Hong and Chen Zhiyi; they had not invited other forces and families friendly with the Chen Family to avoid complications. If any of these families and forces supported Chen Tang, it would have been troublesome.
In the end, today's ceremony was all about ensuring stability, with no regard for extravagance.
