After summoning her grimoire, Elvira immediately accessed her Second Circle spells. The pages turned one after another until the grimoire stopped on a page filled with blue runes and diagrams with a large rune in the center. The arcana emerged from between the pages and soon formed a tiny sphere of ice that shot toward the forest troll's face.
With a crack, the ice blades pierced the forest troll's face and chest. Due to the troll's sturdy physique and natural resistance to magic, the Winter's Bane spell wasn't enough to kill the creature, but it certainly did a good job of forcing it back.
Working with Elvira, Sarith shot arrow after arrow in the troll's direction, always aiming for its face in an attempt to force the troll to shield itself and thus block her vision. Sarith wanted to curse when she saw the troll moving through the trees to avoid her arrows. She knew immediately that dealing with the forest troll in its natural habitat wouldn't be easy.
