Chapter Six
Emma went to meet Peter
"Save the last dance for me, Pete," she said when she saw him dancing with a lady.
Peter was surprised to hear that from Emma.
A few moments later, he left the lady he was dancing with to meet Emma.
The last dance is ready Princess" he said bowing down his head, he stretched his hand forward, then she placed her hand on his, and he led her to the dancefloor,
"Mm-hmm I loved the way you called me 'Pete', it's intriguing" he whispered into her ear while they were dancing.
Kieran felt like hitting someone when he saw Emma and Peter dancing together, he was so troubled that Vivian noticed his uneasiness
"She, sure has a good taste," Vivian said chuckling, and happy Kieran would even hate her more.
Kieran looked at her with Vivian
"Don't hate me, hate her, she's the one who broke your heart to pieces, not m..."
"Shut your mouth, Vivian"
"Whatever" she mumbled.
They stopped dancing a few minutes later and the quests applauded because they graced the dancefloor.
"Your wife sure, knows how to dance," A man said told Peter. Kieran almost lost control when he saw how people were complimenting them.
"Easy dear" Vivian said laughing
"That was nice," Emma told Peter and left the wedding.
"You see, it wasn't bad at all"
"I know, can we go now"
"Um. Okay"
They left the party together.
"Don't you fucking lie to me, Vivian, don't you dare" Collins who was Vivian's secret lover confronted her
confronted after someone told him his lover pregnant but she wants her ex-boyfriend to take responsibility.
He didn't believe at first until he did his findings and found out, it was true.
"No, I am not lying"
"Don't you dare me bitch, I did my findings, I fucking did, you are a venom Vivian, how could you think of giving my child to another man, answer me" he cried out
"Wow, I have heard enough! So what if the child is yours, what would you do, what can you do, have you forgotten I'm the one sponsoring you?"
"I don't care"
"No, you should care, you should fucking care because, I am blocking your credit card right now, if you don't stop all this rubbish you are doing"
"You won't try that."
"Oh really, try me? Try me and see what I'm capable of doing"
"So I'm just your fuck boy that you use and dumb anything right?"
Vivian rolled her eyes in frustration, she looked at him in disgust.
"How much do you want?"
"Are you crazy?"
"Name your price, name it and leave me alone, you know me Collins and you know what I'm capable of doing if you think you can go against me"
"Is that a threat?"
"Call it whatever you want Collins but I'm the last person on earth you should mess with."
Collins looked at her with rage, he knew he had done bad things and he can't say he is a good person, but if it involves a child he thinks might be his, then he is ready to fight for it till his last breath. He didn't utter a word to Vivian instead he left her place with a plan on his mind
Collins did his findings and found where Kieran's office was, he went there to book an appointment when it was his turn he went inside.
Kieran was surprised because he didn't know him then he introduced himself to and told him everything Kieran was shocked, he doesn't know if he should be happy or sad but one certain thing was that he hated Vivian with passion when he learned what she did.
Both of them planned to have a DNA test to know who the father was. He went to Vivian's place to inform her about the DNA
"What do you mean, I don't understand what you are saying"
"We will conduct a paternity test to know who the father is"
"We?''
"Yes, Collins and I, your Collins in case you need a reminder"
"Fuck! That piece of shit! He..."
Kieran interrupted her.
"We are going to the hospital on Monday"
"I'm not going anywhere! You are the father of my baby, the baby is yours, not Collins's"
"I won't be so sure of that if I were you, see you on Monday," he said and left
"Oh, Collins, you will pay for this, you will pay with your life for ruining the plan I had invested my time and money into, nobody messes with me!" she yelled and kicked her bag away from her.
"I need to have another plan, now, the DNA must not happen. Oh God, what if he takes the test and he isn't the father, fuck! It" She scattered her hair, " Collins, you will surely pay for this, you will pay dearly for messing with me"
She was agitated because she has doubts too. She doesn't know who the father was because she had sex with Collins unprotected one day when she was drunk. "I shouldn't have had unprotected sex with that piece of shit. Fuck my hormones" She said and bite her lip
Kieran doesn't know how to feel at that moment, he was hurt deeply but what he was sure of was that he will conduct a DNA and be sure that the baby is truly his before he takes responsibility. He would never deny the baby if the results show that he's the father but if he isn't, then he's done with Vivian" he thought
Why is Vivian not picking my calls since all these days?" Kate looked at her phone. She has been calling Vivian but she doesn't pick her calls.
"Wow, seems she wants to play smart with me huh, she got what she wanted but I didn't get mine. Emma is still the managing director after all I did to make sure she gets fired, she is still there progressing, we've got to plan another thing, I need to be in that position, I want to be in that position, I have to be in that position".
She dialed her number again.
She felt cheated for not getting what she wanted when Vivian has gotten hers. "I have got to do something about it before it's too late. fuck you Vivian" she shouted not knowing that even Vivian was facing a bigger problem.
Emma, you wouldn't believe what I want to say to you Debbie said while she and Emma were having lunch at her place.
"Really?"
"Mm-hmm" Debbie nodded
"Spit it out babe"
"Could you believe that Vivian had another lover apart from Kieran?" Emma choked hearing those words and started coughing.
"Oh dear sorry, she handed water to her"
"For real?"
She finished her meal and went to take an angle because it's her favorite fruit.
"Yes babe, and that means, they are not sure who the father of the baby is"
"Oh" she muttered softly
She devoted her attention to the fruit in her hand, she doesn't want to think about Kieran or the problems he is facing because it still hurts
"I heard they want to conduct a DNA test to know who the father is. imagine that babe? who would have thought that even the almighty Vivian had a secret lover whom she is even older than? I can't imagine what Kieran must be going through right now" Debbie said feeling sad for Kieran
"Oh" was all Emma could mutter.
"That sucks, well let's just forget about it. It's his problem, not ours" Debbie said and went to the fridge to get an apple too.
Emma remembered the times she and his Kieran spent together she has been trying all this while to forget him and she was improving but as she heard his name again, all the memories came rushing back to her head.
"What's wrong babe?" Debbie noticed Emma's face has changed "Nothing"
"Nothing?"
"Yes, nothing is wrong".
"Oh, don't tell me that, or is it because of what I said about Kieran now?
"No" She denied
"Hmm, I just felt like letting you know what was happening, I am sorry if you are hurt".
"Who told you?"
"Told me what?"
"That Vivian had another lover"
"Oh that, I heard it at the office remember Kieran is one of our sponsors in the company"
"I see"
"Yeah but let's just forget about him and his girlfriend or baby mama she said and laughed which one are we going to call her? is it a girlfriend or baby mama?"
"Babe I don't know and I don't care"
"I was just kidding"
Emma relaxed her body in the chair and threw her head backward, she closed her eyes trying to sleep in that posture.
"Emma, come on sit up, this your sleeping posture is not proper" "Debbie leave me alone"
"No, I won't, you will hurt your neck, come on" she went to meet her and dragged her outside for watering her flowers.
Three days later Kieran went to the hospital for the test they want to conduct.
He was late for the appointment
"Hi Vivian, I am sorry, I got here late" He looked around to see where Collins is
"Where is Collins? Is he in the lab?"
"No? Vivian said as she flipped her hair backward
"Then where is he?"
"I don't know?"
''What do you mean you don't know? We both agreed to be here today for the test and he was eager about it"
"I bet"
Kieran picked his phone from his pocket and dialed Collins's number but his phone was switched off.
"What the fuck is going? he should be here by now, I called his number but it's not reachable".
Vivian smiled because she knew what she had done to Collins that made him not to be able to come for the appointment.
"Why are you smiling?"
"Whoa, is smiling now I crime, what section is it in?" she said with sarcasm
"This is odd"
"Mm-hmm"
"Well since Collins is not here and I don't think he will be anytime soon, let's get started"
Vivian was shocked. "No, we should postpone it"
"Why?"
"Because of Collins"
"No way, I will do mine when he is ready he will do his"
"But we can't do it without him," Vivian said
"Says who?"
Vivian objected because she made Collins disappear so has to prevent the test from taking place. She never thought Kieran would still suggest that they should go on with the test even without Collins's presence.
"Let us go, Vivian, I have no time to waste"
"But Collins is not here so..."
"That doesn't matter".
Vivian doesn't want the test to take place she pretended as if she's feeling pain in her stomach and bent down.
"Oh my God! my stomach hurts"
Kieran looked at her "Don't you dare Vivian, don't you dare play me" he knew she was pretending. "If you think Collins disappearance and this your little drama will make the test not to take place today, you better think twice"
"I have nothing to do with his disappearance"
"We all concluded on coming today and he was so serious about it, why would he decide not to come without telling me," Kieran said suspiciously.
"I don't know anything about it," Vivian said reapplying her lipstick Kieran looked at her. "I never said you did anything, you are the one accusing yourself" Vivian tried to convince him but he was determined to take the paternity test that day.
They were called when it was time for the test to be taken. Vivian was disappointed. They took the test, then the doctor informed them when the result will be ready.
"Thank you, doctor, see you soon," Kieran told the doctor.
Dr. Andrew shook his hands. Kieran left the doctor's office without uttering a word to Vivian. She followed him outside
"I guess you must be pretty excited about all these huh? well have it at the back of your mind that even if you are not the father of my baby, your little bitch has another man, so it's your loss"
Kieran drove off without answering her.
"Damn!, I have to do something about the test, I need to manipulate the results, yes! I need to tell the doctor to make sure that the result comes out as positive even if it is negative. Kieran must be with me, and If I want that to happen, then this pregnancy must be his" she thought.
She went back to the hospital to meet the doctor again.
