A noble family could get things done in record time, especially one as united as Khan's. However, technology had limitations, and Nott Station's location and available space didn't help.
Each project required an unending series of transportation of valuable materials. Nott Station's teleport wasn't big, to begin with, so Garret and Gordon had to plan how to approach the many projects, what to prioritize, and how to smooth out everything to save time.
The specialized manpower was the easiest to teleport, and the same went for the more advanced working equipment. The ships should have been outside that group, but Khan's forces solved the problem by dismantling and reassembling them once they reached Nott Station.
