He set the crystal on his armor with a rueful shake of his head. "In Teiwaz's name, what have you done Markos?" He muttered softly.
"You sense it too?" Unnur's voice came like a shadow from behind him and he whirled at the sound, startled for a moment. He pulled her into a firm embrace and held her, resting his chin on the top of her head. They didn't say anything as he appreciated her warmth and closeness.
When he finally spoke, he felt something shift inside of him. "Something is very wrong here," he whispered. "I don't think it is Markos's doing but he's at its center." He kissed the top of her head.
