Chapter 30 - Soldiers And Schedules

The latter-day went into Anton explaining and showing Leesa her work and responsibilities, which she would be doing on her own from tomorrow. Anton emphasized that Leesa needed to be organized and prioritize her tasks. He also warned her of the potential consequences of not completing her work on time. Leesa took notes and asked any questions she had. Later in the evening, Elzar explained her duties as the new commander to Leesa. By this Leesa's schedule became tight. Now she no longer had any free time to read books and enjoy her leisurely time, which she was used to doing when living in the Marlene residence.

The next day, the first thing on her schedule was warm-up exercises and training with her subordinate soldiers. The soldiers appointed under Leesa's jurisdiction included Hendricus, who was excited that he would be able to spar with Leesa every day as he started admiring Leesa's skills and power after he got defeated by her. Hendricus was determined to become as strong as Leesa and aspired to match her strength, agility and resilience. He made sure to attend all the training sessions and sparring matches with Leesa to learn from her and improve his skills.

Leesa gathered her team and announced, "Since this is the first time, I am seeing many of you. I would like to have a friendly match with all of you taking turns to understand your strengths and skills".

Many of them were eager to fight Leesa as they wanted to show her their skills and test out hers for, she was made their commander without any prior notice just on the basis of a rookie tournament. Thus, no one complained about Leesa's assertion and went ahead with it. All of them gathered around forming a circle and sat down obediently and one by one they took their turns to spar with Leesa.

She thought this untrained body would be tired even before all the soldiers had finished fighting since she had not constantly fought with many people for quite some time. So, she fought the soldiers one by one, noticing their movements and keeping her movements to a minimum. Her fighting experience was off the charts, so she was able to judge the person's strength and efficiency in their techniques perfectly.

Soon after a few fights, they all learned that Leesa was not their average rookie. She was a total boss! Leesa was like, "What, you think I couldn't handle a sparring session?" The ones who looked down on her quickly discovered she was a force to be reckoned with. She proved to be a powerful opponent, and her skills were no match for any of them. They all came to an agreement that Leesa was meant to be their commander.

The social norms do not work on the battlefield, and the experienced soldiers are well-versed in it. The battlefield is a place of raw survival, where the only thing that matters is your ability to fight and survive. This means that everyone is equal, regardless of gender, class, or rank. Everyone must be on their guard and do their best in order to survive. So, Leesa was accepted by her team first and that was the only thing that mattered as during the war these soldiers would be the ones who would support her and work under her. The nobles only knew how to talk and they could keep talking and spreading rumours about Leesa but she couldn't care less.

Hendricus couldn't take his turn because Leesa knew how powerful he was. So, he had to stay put and watch others spar with Leesa. After the sparring session was over Leesa concluded that these people were perfect in their training and exercises so she did not add anything to that. She assumed that with every day's session, they would be able to improve their sword skills.

Flavian had cleared his morning schedule intending to discreetly observe Leesa. Ready to intervene if any soldier disrespected her, he found that things proceeded smoothly, rendering his presence unnecessary. But Flavian was grateful for the opportunity to admire Leesa's beauty from afar.

Next on her schedule was breakfast, so she had Weinne help her get ready for the day. She had her breakfast with Weinne, who was busy cleaning Leesa's room and had also not eaten her breakfast yet. After the meal, they both returned to their work. Having decided to make this day as useful as possible, Weinne decided to arrange Leesa's wardrobe so that she could have her dresses by her side and her belongings arranged in the right place.

While Leesa's schedule was mainly filled with accompanying Flavian and helping him with his work, she first had to sort out any letters and paperwork that needed his immediate attention and separate them from other useless topics. Apart from this, she is also in charge of scheduling Flavian's day properly and making sure he follows the schedule and the arrangements for his meetings, as well as keeping notes from meetings so he can review them later.

And later in the evenings accompanying Flavian to any event or balls on some occasions. She is also responsible for Flavian's travel arrangements, making sure that all his stays, meetings, and transportation are arranged and well-communicated. She must also keep track of his expenses and make sure they are within the budget.

The whole day went by as Leesa got used to the work. Leesa had her dinner and was on her way back to the office, she met Flavian on the way.

"Why are you here, Your Highness? Are you planning to go somewhere?"

"Yes, my lady, I was thinking of going for a walk. Would you like to accompany me?"

As Leesa's job was to be with Flavian, she readily agreed without having much thought. The two of them took a leisurely stroll through the palace garden, an expanse of greenery that encircled the palace except for the entrance. The garden was a captivating sight, with its beautiful flowers and well-kept shrubs illuminated by gentle moonlight, creating a serene ambience.
