I caught up to Shuka and started helping her clear the path.
The entire trip was going smoothly so we'd probably be there in 30 minutes.
There weren't any issues along the way and eventually Shuka said something.
"A magic caster using tier 3 spells and higher. Your talent is wasted as a copper adventurer, i have a job offer for you."
Well that wasn't the question i expected.
I motioned for her to continue.
"Join the Kings knight ranks, the lady you came with can join Blue Roses if she has the same talent as you. I have a friend who's pretty good with magic that could train her, though i doubt she'd help."
Generous offer, makes me wonder what she gains from this.
"Blue Roses is definitely interesting to me, but i couldn't care less about the kingdom. There's not a single being in existence who is worthy enough to even think about me serving them. But why extend such an invitation, what's your true purpose?"
She didn't seem to care about how i disrespected the kingdom so she obviously isn't very attached.
"My purpose? You were just offered the chance of a lifetime. Don't let your talent inflate your ego, there's a lot of strong people in this world, like me. You probably shouldn't make enemies with Blue Roses either."
By this point we've gone far ahead of the group so we were waiting for them to catch up.
I just stood in front of her and we made eye contact.
She looked up at me, her eyes flickering as thoughts went through her head.
I'm just a copper plate with good talent in her eyes, what capital did i have to help her in anything? She had no reason to share her problems.
So i'll give her one.
"Strong people? I admit that based on this worlds power scaling you are pretty powerful compared to these adventurers. But your senses need some work, you can't even tell that you're inches away from death?"
She was confused at what i said, looking around she saw nobody.
I smiled and several guards that were invisible instantly showed themselves.
Each having a their weapons placed against every vital point.
Shuka's eyes widened as she saw this.
"H-how? Who?"
I waved them away and the guards dropped their weapons before disappearing again.
I could see them even though they were invisible, they stayed close by me.
There was another group by Aya, following along the carriage she was in.
To put the final nail in the coffin i did a little more.
Placing a barrier around us i let some of my aura out.
I placed a barrier around her as well so she doesn't die.
I let out a tiny amount, the ground below us was torn up, the wind inside the barrier was like a category five storm.
The entire time she just looked on in shock.
After that it just stopped. I completely stopped letting the aura out and i took down the barriers.
The sharp change in scenery probably made her feel like it was an illusion, but the ground was proof as it was a prime victim.
*Snap*
I snapped my fingers, getting her attention.
"You mind telling your purpose to me now? I'm sure my inflated ego could come in handy."
She stayed quiet for awhile.
The carriages caught up so we couldn't stand around.
I fixed the ground a little, leaving some destruction so it seemed like a battle took place.
Shuka continued using her chains to traverse, she was quiet the entire time.
I just followed behind her while listening to music.
How was i listening to music? The great thing about having any power i want, i made a music station in my mind.
It perfectly matched to my brain waves so any song i wanted to listen to would automatically play.
The perfect song to fit my every mood.
I just followed along while humming to the music.
…
We eventually arrived at the Garden of Eden.
It was here when Shuka finally spoke to me again.
"If i tell you…can you help?"
I looked at her and nodded while smiling.
"When i was younger i came home and found that my parents were murdered. We were a wealthy family so we obviously had many enemies. But this was different, there was a calling card to an organization i had never heard of before, until recently."
She teared up a little while talking about her family.
"I began adventurer work when i first got my powers. Moving my way up the ranks very quickly until i became Adamantine. Eventually i was offered a position by the King, this gave me a chance to look into my families murders."
I nodded, indicating i was listening.
"I stumbled upon a group known as Eight Fingers. They are very powerful and have allies and members in high places, they aren't weak strength-wise either."
Eight fingers, i guess they are destined to be destroyed again.
"If i want a real chance to beat them i need a better standing in the kingdom, so i figured that if you joined the Kings knights you would rank up quickly, that would reflect on me nicely and improve my chances at taking down Eight Fingers. Your friend would join Blue Roses, you two are connected so i would be able to have Blue Roses aid me in my fight."
Her plan was decent enough, at least she had no shady ideas like sacrificing us.
And Blue Roses is a female group so it's not like she was trying to sell Aya's body to someone in exchange for help.
I'd have to kill her if that was the case, regardless of how i felt about her character.
"It's a good plan. Unfortunately Aya and I aren't the subservient kind. I promised to help, and i will. This raid isn't going to end well for these people, they're trespassing into my private property after all. Let's discuss how to help you after this massacre."
I smiled at her before teleporting away.
/Shuka POV\
His property? What did i just get myself in to?
Looking at the ruins in front of me i could definitely sense the danger radiating from it.
Maybe i can trust him, with his strength he'd have no reason to deceive me.
I hope i made the right decision.
