Chapter 3 - CHAPTER 1

"Veronica," I heard my mum call me.

"I will be right there!" I screamed as I stood up from my bed. I checked the time and realized it was already 8:00 PM. I guess dinner is ready.

As I made my way downstairs, I found Liam in the dining room, busy with his phone. I decided to do the same, but before I could even start, my mum shouted, "No phones in the dining!"

I put my phone away just as she entered with a pot of spaghetti and fried chicken. As soon as she opened the pot, I frowned and reminded her that I don't like spaghetti. She replied, "Honey, just because you don't like it doesn't mean you can't eat it. Just take what you can handle to avoid going to bed on an empty stomach. Besides, I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow since we're low on supplies."

I ate a small portion of spaghetti but filled up on chicken instead. Afterwards, I drank a glass of orange juice and then headed back upstairs.

As usual, Dad was absent from dinner. I often wonder what keeps him occupied in his office at this time of day.

I stepped into the shower and let the cool water wash over me.

After bathing, I texted Sam goodnight, logged into my Facebook account, commented on a few posts, logged out, and went to sleep.

I need to be well-prepared for tomorrow.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm and quickly headed to the bathroom. After washing my face, I went downstairs and saw Mum in the kitchen. I greeted her before asking about Dad, and she replied that he was getting ready for work. I quickly went to his room, and we chatted for a bit.

Afterwards, I returned to my room to prepare for school. I really didn't want to be late on a Monday, so I grabbed my red high-waist jeans, a black crop top, and black sneakers to match. I headed to the bathroom to wash my hair and take a shower.

Once I dried my hair and styled it, I got dressed. I took my bag and snapped some selfies before leaving the house.

You might be wondering why I didn't have breakfast, but breakfast before school is just not my thing. Fortunately, Sam's driver arrived with him in the car, so I hopped in, and off we went to school.
