Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 Lin Yi's Plan

Fang Zhengrong and the yellow-haired man simultaneously looked at the newcomer.

The yellow-haired man was about to succeed, but was thwarted by this sudden man in front of him. He stood up in anger and glared at Lin Yi,

"Kid, are you looking for trouble?"

Fang Zhengrong was also puzzled. He didn't know this person. Why was he stopping him?

Lin Yi looked at the yellow-haired man and let out a cold laugh,

"I am, so what?"

Although Lin Yi didn't know this person, he was filled with disgust for his identity as a member of Divine Hall.

This guild, from top to bottom, was full of bullies who bullied the weak and feared the strong.

In Lin Yi's three years of gaming life before his rebirth, he had quite a few encounters with members of this guild.

Meeting members of Divine Hall again, it wouldn't have mattered if Lin Yi was still just an average joe; he wouldn't stand a chance against this guild, whether in the game or in life.

But things were different now. Confident in his own strength, the small fry in front of him was simply nothing in Lin Yi's eyes.

More importantly, Lin Yi didn't want to see the weary-looking man in front of him make the same mistakes again.

Because the ones who hunted him down when he was just a stable young man were these Divine Hall people.

In response to Lin Yi's provocation, the yellow-haired man, filled with anger, acted decisively,

"Damn you for meddling!"

The yellow-haired man swung a fist fiercely towards Lin Yi. Fang Zhengrong also didn't expect the yellow-haired man to suddenly make a move and was too late to stop it, so he could only shout,

"Watch out!"

Seeing the yellow-haired man make a move, Lin Yi didn't panic at all and directly lifted his foot to kick towards the yellow-haired man's chest.

The yellow-haired man, thinking he could knock the guy down with a punch, never expected his opponent to be so fast.

Seeing the kick coming, the yellow-haired man didn't even have time to react before feeling a suffocating strike.

The yellow-haired man grunted and retreated several steps before steadying himself.

At this moment, Lin Yi suddenly spoke:

"While I'm in a good mood, you better not make things worse for yourself; get lost."

Even if it was just a mere Level 5 Mage's attribute, when placed in the real world, dealing with a little thug like the yellow-haired man, Lin Yi truly didn't regard him as anything.

With the arrogant nature of those Divine Hall people, it's only a matter of time before Lin Yi clashes with them if he wants to make a mark in the game.

Perhaps sensing Lin Yi's unusual demeanor, the yellow-haired man, though a bit scared inside, put on a fierce front,

"Kid, you've got guts. Let's wait and see."

But before leaving, the yellow-haired man didn't forget his task. He told Fang Zhengrong,

"Brother Fang, you take a look first, and tell me when you've signed. I'll contact you later."

After the yellow-haired man left dejectedly, Lin Yi sat down in front of the confused Fang Zhengrong,

"You want to know why I stopped you from signing, don't you?"

Fang Zhengrong shrugged, meaning: Since you know, just tell me why.

Lin Yi chuckled,

"Because my motive is the same as his."

Fang Zhengrong looked bewildered,

"What?"

In Fang Zhengrong's mind, he was just a newly discharged veteran with no clue about gaming.

The yellow-haired guy coming to recruit him still made some sense, but this person in front of him having the same purpose left Fang Zhengrong a bit puzzled. Was the game really short of people?

Seeming to sense the other's confusion, Lin Yi got straight to the point,

"I want to form my own team in the game. I heard you're a retired special forces soldier, so I wanted to invite you to join."

"As for the compensation, it's five thousand a month to start. If the team's profits are good, bonuses will be added. How about it?"

"Five thousand?"

The number made Fang Zhengrong a bit stunned,

"Is this game really that profitable? Or are you just fooling me?"

Is it really that profitable?

Lin Yi found the notion somewhat amusing in his heart, while also perfectly understanding Fang Zhengrong's doubt.

For many people, a five thousand monthly salary wasn't much, but for those without special skills, it was about as high as they could earn from working.

Getting five thousand in high pay and bonuses just for playing a game was indeed a bit bizarre for Fang Zhengrong.

Regarding whether games could make money, Lin Yi didn't explain too much, just as he couldn't fathom why someone would spend tens of thousands on a piece of equipment.

Some things, only after he personally encounters them, will he understand the rules of this domain.

To prove he wasn't a scammer, under the half-doubtful gaze of the other, Lin Yi transferred 10,000 yuan to his account,

"Here's five thousand as a prepaid salary, and another five thousand for you to buy a gaming helmet."

Saying that, Lin Yi also added the other's contact information and sent over his in-game name,

"Contact me in the game after reaching level ten."

After saying this, Lin Yi stood up and left under Fang Zhengrong's incredulous gaze.

After the initial shock, Fang Zhengrong looked at the already distant Lin Yi and shouted:

"Aren't you worried that I'll run away with the money?"

Lin Yi didn't stop, nor did he respond, seemingly indifferent to the answer to this question.

Ten thousand yuan was undoubtedly a significant amount for Lin Yi before rebirth.

But for the Lin Yi of today, reborn, a future top-tier Shield Warrior was not something that could be measured in money.

Although Lin Yi couldn't predict if he could walk the same path again with his intervention.

But isn't life just one big gamble?

Only Lin Yi, who had experienced three years of gaming, could truly understand that "Glory of the Gods" was unquestionably a game centered around teamwork.

Whether in a fixed team or a random group, whether raiding a dungeon or participating in a large-scale event, from the initial five-person groups to ten-person groups, and later fifty-person groups, teams were pervasive everywhere.

Therefore, in order for Lin Yi to go further in the game, he had to plan ahead for his team.

Red Eyes was the first person Lin Yi wanted to recruit, and Fang Zhengrong was the second, because in dungeon raids, an excellent tank was indispensable and crucial.

......

Fang Zhengrong returned home with ten thousand yuan and a heart full of anxiety.

The person opening the door was a stunning woman; no one would expect that such a seemingly simple man like Fang Zhengrong would have such a beautiful wife at home.

Chen Ping looked at her husband with a face full of confusion,

"Why are you back so early in the morning?"

Fang Zhengrong said nothing, just sat on the sofa and started smoking one cigarette after another.

"Weren't you out looking for a job?"

Chen Ping walked over to open the window for ventilation, clearing the smoke, and said angrily:

"Fang Zhengrong, I'm still carrying your child, do you want to smoke us to death?"

Fang Zhengrong then remembered his wife was pregnant, hurriedly put out the cigarette, and apologized:

"I'm sorry, Ping, lost in thought and forgot about that."

Chen Ping took a mask from the drawer and put it on, sat next to Fang Zhengrong, and asked:

"What happened? You usually don't seem so absent-minded!"

Thereupon, Fang Zhengrong recounted the events of the night, leaving Chen Ping quite shocked,

"He gave you ten thousand without you doing anything? How can that be possible?"

Chen Ping was still somewhat puzzled,

"He didn't even make you sign a contract, wasn't he afraid you'd take the money and run?"

Fang Zhengrong was equally astonished and puzzled,

"Do you think playing games can really earn that much? Not to mention the ten thousand, with five thousand a month salary, it's much more than the three thousand from the security job."

Chen Ping looked at the man she chose, who wasn't favored by her family,

"So, what are you planning to do?"

Fang Zhengrong replied without thinking:

"I'll go and book a gaming helmet first thing in the morning, no matter what, since I've taken the money, I have to give it a try."

At this moment, Chen Ping suddenly said,

"Actually, you don't have to buy it. You didn't sign a contract after all, and you know that ten thousand is for our family..."

Before Chen Ping could finish, Fang Zhengrong impatiently interrupted,

"Even if I have to beg for food, I wouldn't take this ill-gotten money. Don't ever say that again."

"No matter what, I will try playing the game. If it's really not suitable, I'll go work at that security company first."

With that, Fang Zhengrong headed towards the study.

Chen Ping sat on the sofa, not upset by Fang Zhengrong's anger; instead, she looked at his back with a hint of admiration, thinking with some pride:

This is my man.

Although their current life wasn't ideal, Chen Ping still had full confidence in the man she chose.

Some might say such blind trust is foolish.

But Chen Ping believed that as long as you have hope, you can see the bright side eventually.

At least he was still trying, for her, for their family, and that was enough.

Just then, a sound of a cup breaking came from the study, startling Chen Ping. She rushed over,

"Rong, what happened?"

Fang Zhengrong was dumbfounded, staring at the overwhelming discussions about "Feng Hua" on the official "Glory of the Gods" forum, quickly taking out his phone.

There was only one text message with two words:

Feng Hua.
