Eder was roused by the gentle prodding on his side. He opened his eyes to see the beautiful face of Tala staring at him. She blinked, he blinked. She blinked some more and so did he. Finally unable to stay quiet anymore, Tala asked.
"I thought you're going to school with Sasha today to file for leave?" Eder stirred and threw a worried glance at his wife who's still absorbing the contents of the glass container. Her color has further improved and her hair glowed in its ginger shade again. Satisfied, he walked out of the room.
Little Sasha is already dressed outside their house. She carries her small backpack and waited patiently as her father changed into his uniform. When he got out, she climbed the car and seated comfortably inside. Putting their seatbelts on, he finally spoke to his little daughter.
"Do you remember what we talked about last night?" She nodded.
"We'll say sorry to the boy's. Uh. My playmate's family." She replied.
"That's my girl! Let's go now princess before we get late." He cheered. Little Sasha smiled uneasily at him. Satisfied, Eder drove to town.
Eder attended the flag raising ceremony and even went on to make announcements for the day. Little Sasha remained by his side and did not cause any more ruckus, making the students and teachers happy.
Around the time of morning break, Eder excused himself from the office and visited the young boy that got injured by Sasha. Sasha obeyed by bowing her apology to the young boy and her mother together with her Baba. Although the boy was injured, the family decided not to pursue the incident anymore since nothing major happened to their child. Eder was happy as a result and bought little treats for his youngest child.
Staring at the sky, the sun is high up and the weather has started to get hotter but he did not focus his gaze on those. He plastered a worried look on the big moon just beside the sun. The moon continued to glow purple and he worried more. Eventually, he talked to his subordinates and went home early with little Sasha that day. It helped a lot that he still looked a little pale from the round of things he did earlier today that the teachers urged him to take a break.
As he drove out of town and back home, they passed by a shabby house that just opened its door. A woman with an untidy appearance walked out of the house. She knelt down by her yard to tend on the growing grasses. When the principal's car passed by, she scrambled to wear her spectacles so she can have a better look though her eyes looked bright and healthy.
When the car is already a few meters away, she stopped pulling out the weeds and walked back inside her house. Inside the shabby house, there were still noticeable unknown marks on the walls but one side is cleaned and emptied out save for a blueprint of a house. With further look, the blueprint appears to be of the house where the principal lives. The woman walked towards the drawing and marked some parts on it. It is worthy to note that as part of the blueprint, the wooden wall is included in the plan with dotted lines that outlines the hidden room behind it.
The woman went back to her work table and the view of the principal's house came into display again. It appears that for the past years, this woman has made a lot of progress in spying over this unique family. She saw their car drive inside the yard and the tenants disappeared from her view. The house remains the same on the screen and even the unevenly parked car is in view but no matter how much she zooms in, she's unable to see the residents of the house.
The woman smiled lightly and returned her table to its normal unkempt look then she went at the back of her house where her storage shack still stands. The shack looks pitiful from the outside. Its walls are made of rusting galvanized roof sheets and they make a nasty grating sound when the harsh wind blows on them. The woman opened its similarly rusting door and did not seem to mind the ear-splitting sound of metal scratching each other.
There's a huge amount of clothes, papers and tools all piled up like a mountain inside. The woman patiently shifted the piled items to the side and in the middle of this pile, something made of stone is covered by slabs of wood. She removed the slabs with ease and she covered her nose as a tiny well opens up with a bit of murky air. She looked inside and saw a well about one to two meters deep. Dust can be seen scattered inside the well. When the dust settled, she let down her hair and jumped down.
What is expected as a dirty outcome did not materialize and instead the not so deep well seemed to take a long time to let her reach the bottom. And even more amazing is the bit of change that happens to the woman as she falls down. Her loose hair gets tied on its own while her body seems to get cleansed by itself and now a gorgeous woman in black ensemble steadily drops down to the bottom of the well. A large black shadow came out of nowhere and enveloped the falling woman as she reached the ground.
'Pffft!'
The sound of something losing a lot of air is heard before the black shadow shook its large body and shrank. In its place was a fluffy black cat with a pair of big eyes that looked at the woman with grief on its face.
"You two faced woman! How could you always do this to me?" The cat shrieked and waddled towards the edge of the room, its fluffy body bouncing like a ball as it moved.
Yes, the bottom of the well is a small room similar to her shabby house but arranged in a tidier way. One side has a door which she opened and a long tunnel with an ample space able to accommodate a small group of people is shown. The tunnel is irregularly shaped but looks sturdy, with no signs of it crumbling down. The woman walked further in and towards the end of the tunnel where a big wall of earth and stone stared back at her. It appears that she hasn't finished building this tunnel yet. The black cat followed after her.
