I had lost all sense of time since arriving at the Breles hospital. I was sure a lot of it had to do with the number of tests that they were having me undergo. I was wheeled out of my room at least a couple of times a day. It seemed as if I was alternating between various tests and small meals that consisted of dry meats and mushy potatoes or rice.
I sat upright in my bed, getting ready to have yet another X-ray done. I woke up that morning and was shocked to discover that my legs were starting to get a little bit of feeling back. It felt as if I was getting poked in my legs thousands of times with tiny, dull needles.
“This is very promising, Mr. Stormfall,” Doctor Elowen said as he scribbled something down on the pad of paper he was holding. “The nurse will be in soon to take you to the X-ray room. Just sit tight for now.”
