Even if they didn't talk their body language alone would have spoken volumes about how neither of them entered the bathroom with thoughts about actually needing to wash up before dinner, and even if Jade had truly needed to wash the buildup minerals out of her fur, it would only have been a valid excuse to get them into the position they found themselves in.
While they were familiar with each other's bodies, they had always followed the original rules of the deal that focused on the relationship between Jade and Laxana where he and Justin were just allowed to participate in their adventures on the bed. So while not awkward things were different when it was just the two of them and Laxana wasn't initiating.
