The dining room was only a stop, one full of deliberate teasing.
Jade sat in Zeph's lap just as he told her to, picking at delicate bites of food while his hand wandered beneath the hem of his shirt, fingers lazily stroking the inside of her thigh. She tried to eat, tried to keep her focus on the taste, the wine, the warmth of the alcohol in her belly but his touch was a steady distraction. And then she noticed them.
Three women. Watching her from across the table. Krynienne, Allison, and Lilith were all looking at her, fully aware of what Zeph was doing to her just out of view of those to whom he was supposed to be introducing to her.
