In the distant past, the Candela Empire collapsed, and the remnants with Candela blood were cursed by the Evil God, vanishing in a single breath.
But the vast Candela Empire still maintained itself for a while before it slowly toppled like a great edifice.
During this period, some of the imperial heritages took the form of relics, deeply buried in unknown spaces, waiting to be opened on a fated day in the future. The rest of the heritages were either destroyed by Mysterious Evil and minions of the Evil God or acquired by some human forces closely related to the Empire.
Among them, a force known as the Sanctuary obtained a large amount of technological data from the Candela Empire, as well as many ready-made rune artifacts.
Seizing this great opportunity, the Sanctuary force grew and flourished, saving countless humans in an era of rampant disasters and integrating many shattered human nations.
They also created a pure land to counter the disasters, sheltering the survivors.
