Generally speaking, dating is actually not that friendly to men... The "men's rest chairs" in front of stores and inside malls are clear proof of that.
For most men, what to buy is determined by performance and price, and can be decided after a single trip, pay and then go home.
For ladies on a date, however, shopping for goods is a form of entertainment in itself, they can enjoy the process of browsing and communicating (bargaining) with sales staff, satisfying their senses, emotions, and even physical energy, not to mention spending an entire day and evening... Since it's entertainment, why complain about being tired when they can indulge in it for an entire week?
Thus, many men really do not understand why their wife/girlfriend, who normally complains about breaking the basket handle while shopping for groceries, would drag them out for a "marathon from hell" on their only day off after a hard week's work.
