"This is a financial officer who was responsible for receiving aid from the United States. He studied in the United States for six years and lived in Europe for twelve years. After the new government was established in Afghanistan, he returned to Afghanistan. I don't know if he has too much cash on hand, but he possesses a great deal of material wealth. Thus, he has been smuggling these aid materials back to Europe. An American was involved with him, but the American has already left, abandoning him."
Ashraf murmured as he spoke at length about a middle-aged man who appeared to be in his forties. Then, after hesitating for a moment, he continued, "This guy controls about forty percent of Afghanistan's opium production, all sold to American pharmaceutical companies. He's wealthy, incredibly wealthy, although I reckon his money must be in overseas banks and he probably couldn't come up with a million in cash."
"What about his wife and kids?"
