Chapter 22 - Declaration

Jessica moves debris from her leg to stand. She looks around in search of Aeron and Ash. She sees Ash helping Aeron up, and she runs towards them.

Once she caught up with them, Jessica asked, "Are you guys okay?" Aeron and Ash nodded 'yes' in response. "She's human, but that felt like sorcery," Aeron implored. Ash sighed as he wiped the dust from the debris off his shirt. "The way she did that spell... She must have dragon slayer magic," Ash speculated. Jessica turned towards the now-destroyed Dell Sterum. She balled her fist.

"Let's go back and beat her. She destroyed our hideout!" Jessica breathed angrily. "I want to too but coming from the east. I know you can sense it. Four more people with power on the same level, if not higher as Lanai's are heading this way. We would be outnumbered," Ash explained to her. Jessica sighs and rolls her eyes. "Ugh! If only the others were here... Titania's Hand," Jessica casts a spell.

A golden yellow hand rises from the ground. Aeron and Ash stand on the magic hand and Jessica's golden yellow wings appear. Jessica begins flying and the magic hand with Ash and Aeron flies and follows her.

Lanai jumps up from the debris of the destroyed Dell Sterum. She looks around and sighs. "Damn, they got away," she smiles, "I guess I'll catch them next time,"

Sylvie walks down a dirt path in a forest. She walks upon ruins and sees Eris leaning on it in an Oxford blue tailcoat.

"King Eris, how are you?" She greets him. "Eh, besides me worrying about the slayer attack on my city, I'm fine," he responds wryly. Sylvie laughs. They both begin to walk through the forest.

"Are you prepared for the attack?" Sylvie queries Eris. "Yes. I've reviewed all my calculations and strategies and created my winning plan. You know, I don't like fighting or death but for some reason, battle planning is so fun," he responds genuinely. "That's because your grandmother was Queen Elaine. Every plan she devised resulted in her victory," Sylvie mentions. Sylvie stops walking and so does Eris.

"That said, I finally gathered some information about the slayers. They call themselves the Koroshi. There are nine dragon slayers in total, but I only know five names. Lava dragon slayer Armani, sky dragon slayer Quin, water Lanai, lightning Belinda, and their leader Yuki Haido. And they have a Burning Ash dragon slayer and an Acid dragon slayer. Unfortunately, I don't know Yuki's magic, or the other two. But I do know that they wear blue lighting-covered robes," Sylvie explains quickly. Eris smiles.

"It should be easy then, right? It's only nine people," He claimed. Sylvie gives him a serious look. "Just two took out the armies of three Non-Great Realms in Pervolsima. They are dangerous and pose a threat to all of us. Giant King Terraum and I are convinced there are way more people behind this than just the Koroshi," She explained. Eris places his hand on his chin.

"Sylvie, do you know the magic type Dragon King has? If my plans are to work, I need to know his magic type," Eris announces. Sylvie looks up to the sky. "Only two people knew his magic type, Elaine and Evergreen. I had to stop communicating with Elaine since Magicae wasn't supposed to have contact with other realms. And Evergreen, she was confined to a hidden hospital after conceiving her son. Both are now gone; however, the Son of Evergreen knows everything his mother knows. Except, I don't know what he looks like, and I don't know where he is or how to find him," Sylvie elaborates.

"Hmm, son of Evergreen also known as the supposed God of Elves. It's confusing how he was born centuries after elves came to be but is still revered as their god," Eris wonders. "Well, I'd have to ask Queen Xotiko about that. It was something about ancient elven lore," she responds. Eris's face frowns in confusion. He then places his hand on his forehead.

"Jesse, I'm in the middle of my meeting with Queen Sylvie, we weren't supposed to have a council meeting until I got back. And I don't like when you enter my mind without telling me, it's awkward," Eris exclaims. He listens to Jesse through his mind and his face turns to shock. "What?! I'm coming now. Sylvie, I'm sorry but we have to reschedule," he tells her. She nods and Eris's wings appear, and he flies south to his capital.

~Royal Castle of Terramater, Giganterra, Gigantios~

The capital has huge buildings made out of brick and stone. Giants and fewer humans walk the capital's streets. It's essentially like a giant village with few skyscrapers in the area of the castle. The castle looks to be made from earth literally! It's like parts of the earth were pulled up to form the castle, so it's connected to the ground and is completely brown like the ground.

Hasan walks down the tall giant corridor of his castle in human form and enters the massive throne room. King Terraum is sitting on an enormous throne.

"King Terraum, I defeated your best. There is nothing more your warriors can teach me," Hasan awkwardly announced. King Terraum stares at him blankly for a moment. Then he frowns angrily.

"Didn't I tell you not to call me that?!" He bellows loudly. Hasan's expression turned baffled. "Eh, yeah, sorry Dad," he says smiling with his left hand on the back of his neck.

"So, you say there's nothing more my royal warriors can teach you? You grew so much these past nine months," Terraum stated. Hasan smiled. "His spirit level is higher than mine," Terraum thinks to himself. Terraum sighs, then laughs. "Fine! I'm shipping you back to Astellan." Hasan looks confuzzled.

"What? If you don't want to see your friends, this doesn't have to be arranged," Terraum states. Hasan shakes his head. "No, I want to go back," he assured Terraum. "Good, now let-"

A big explosion sounded and interrupted Terraum. Terraum frowns ferociously before he stands up from his throne. A giant's hand enters the throne room from the enormous balcony and a human steps off of the hand. Her skin is brown, she wears It's Hasan's mother, the first human queen of Gigantios.

"Terr, they're here. Already inside the castle," she says.

Explosions not so distant set off and it makes the castle shake. King Terraum then sighs before he pulls out a small green, human-sized potion bottle. He opens and drinks it all, with the result of his body and Kingly attire shrinking to a humanized size of 6'0 feet from 58'0 feet.

"Hasan, you must leave, now," Terraum said seriously. The commotion from outside the throne room gets louder and closer. Hasan's parents walk closer to the door readying to fight.

"What?! But I can help," Hasan exclaimed. His mother turns back to him. "We have no doubt that you can, but this is different. They're after you, no… they don't even need you. All they need is your blood. It would be best if you retreat to Astellan's capital," his mother explained to him. Hasan stands still and thinks for a moment then snaps back to reality after hearing guards yell outside the throne room. He rolls his eyes and sighs. "Fuck,"

Hasan turns to run to the balcony and closes the balcony doors. King Terraum looks at his wife daringly and Queen Saanvi smiles.

"Chief Vaalu, he died from Burning ash. One breath attack from that slayer wiped out dozens of the soldiers. I believe all the Chiefs are injured or… deceased," Saanvi shares with Terraum.

Terraum shows an angrily shocked expression. " Burning ash, breathing it in is lethal and dangerous in many other ways. How could such magic get in the hands of our enemy?!" He exclaims loudly.

"Shh! You hear that?" Saanvi asks him. Terraum looks confused for a few moments then realizes what she meant. There is no more commotion outside the throne room. Terraum and Saanvi get in a position to fight. The door busts wide open and a man wearing a Koroshi cloak with a black mullet and a long scar on his eye, going up to his eyebrows stands feet away from the threshold.

"So, the Prince is already gone? I guess that sucks," he says standing outside of the throne room. He walks in with a smug face and then opens his mouth and black ash comes out and spreads like smoke, but it doesn't reach King Terraum and Queen Saanvi.

"I don't want to kill you. I didn't even want to come here," the man admits. Terraum twitches his eye and frowns angrily. "So why the hell did you kill my people, dumbass?" He questions infuriatingly. The man looks him in the eye.

"Because I have a job. And citizens weren't harmed so be thankful. I'm not like our leader, so you better listen up. My name is Yuan, and I have a message for you and the other leaders of the Great Realms. This is a declaration of war," Yuan says and Queen Saanvi and King Terraum's forehead furrowed. "You've seen how powerful the Koroshi is, we've conquered Duendia, Tiera, and Gonis. I just took out hundreds of your warriors and my associates are launching an assault on Elvendor Leprenovi as we speak. And soon she'll have them attack Mediocris—the capital city of the strongest kingdom," Yuan explained to them. Queen Saanvi steps closer.

"Since you're giving information, how much military might Yuki Haido have? Declaring war against all Great Realms is the start of another Great War, the 2nd Great War. Initiating a war like that won't be easy for nine dragon slayers. And attacking Mediocris... hmph, that'd be a big mistake. The aristocrats who possess arcane magics are extremely powerful," Queen Saanvi asserts firmly. Yuan sighs.

"The Koroshi is simply the strongest team of the mage guild, Black Mamba. Black Mamba has allied with two other mage guilds- oh! Well... you'd call it a dark guild. Black Mamba has over four hundred members, a handful of us are dragon slayers, just.. like.. me. The other two guilds have about the same number of members as us. That's not nearly enough to go against the Great Realms but Yuki always has a plan," he explains. The smoke of poison ash that was in front of Saanvi and Terraum disappears.

"Heed my warning for it will be the downfall of the Great Realms," Yuan announces. He turns around and runs out of the throne room. Queen Saanvi looks at King Terraum as he begins to turn to his original size.

He leaves the throne room and looks left and right, down the corridor. He sees his warriors down on the ground and blood everywhere. A giant's big footsteps loudly get closer to the throne room. The Giant make their way to King Terraum and Queen Saanvi. Saanvi levitates to sit on his gigantic shoulder since she's human.

"King Terraum, I've told the injured to make their way to the castle. It's time for you to do that spell," they inform Terraum. Terraum grits his teeth. He holds his left arm out. "Great Hammer Caleylynrith!" He called out. (Caw-lay-lyn-rith)

A gigantic black and golden-brown hammer busts through the balcony's doors and swiftly floats to Terraum's left hand. He grabs it with both of his hands and slams the hammer's spear end into the castle floor. "Caleylynrith's Healing Castle!" He shouts. The entire castle inside and out is enveloped in a green magical light that begins to heal the injured inside the castle. He lets go of the hammer and it doesn't move. He turns to the shorter giant with Queen Saanvi still on his shoulder.

"Purna, my advisor, do me a favor. Ready eleven messenger fox ravens to leave for the Great Realms. I'm calling for a summit of the ten igetes," Terraum tells him. Purna gives a shocked expression to this order.

"Terr, are you sure? The last time a summit was called for, it failed," Saanvi mentions. "They'll have no choice but to come. Do it now, Purna," Purna subtly bows. "Yes, my king, but to what realm do I send the eleventh letter?" Purna queries. "I believe all the Igetes can make it to Idhun in the Eozian Sea. We'll need to be on neutral ground. Go now, Purna. Come to my throne room to retrieve the letters after you finish," he responded loudly. Purna nods, turns around, and quickly heads to do his task.

Terraum looks at his injured warriors heal as they struggle to stand. He also looks at the stuck-on-the-ground, dead warriors and their scalding skin due to inhaling the burning ash.

He punches his left fist into the castle wall, which cracks on impact. "Damn those human sorcerers! We'll make them pay!" Terraum bellows loudly, loud enough for everyone in the Captial to hear.

~In Capital City Mediocris~

Mikalae and Jivan fly down in front of the east gate of the Great Baron Wall. Quweiene and her brother Quain are already there waiting for them.

Quain holds his hand out for a handshake with Mikalae.

"Prince Mikalae, I'm Quain Kipo. A pleasure to meet you," he introduces himself. Mikalae shakes his hand then Quain pulls Mikalae closer. "Wow! Your eyes are quite a sight," he says quietly chuckles and Mike gives a bemused expression. "Blue irises and purple- no... smoky purple pupils. And your hair, it's dirty blonde, that doesn't fit the characteristics of a Mediocris," Quain smirks mischievously. Mikalae lets his hand go and steps back. He smiles suspiciously. "Pleasure to meet you," he says wryly. Quain stares into Mikalae's eyes. Mike then walks towards Jivan's side.

"Anyway, it is a change of plans. Quwe, we've been called for. My father is back earlier than expected," Mike conversed. "Don't be so vague, Quain knows. We'll all go. Quain will just have to wait in the ward or the castle garden," Quweiene asserts. Everyone's wings appear, and they fly west to the castle.

~In the giant council meeting room ~

Mikalae, Jivan, and Quweiene walk into the room and quickly sit in their chairs. The Monarch, the Parliament, and the Council are there. It is a meeting of the entire government and the Dark Realm Squad.

"Finally, now let's begin," King Eris says. He looks at Jesse and nods. "Uh, okay, so Princess Jessica has been attacked by the slayers at Dell Sterum on Titania Island. Luckily, she retreated here before enemy reinforcements arrived. She also came with information, but we should hear King Eris first," Jesse says.

"Queen Sylvie has learned that there are nine slayers. They're called The Koroshi and are led by Yuki Haido. For now, we only know of six magic types and those are-" Eris stops after Rhenen chortled. He then began to laugh even louder. "Nine slayers?! Have we been preparing war against nine slayers?" He guffawed loudly. Jivan looked at Rhenen annoyed. "Cut it out, Dad,"

"They're not to be taken lightly. They have lava, sky, water, lightning, acid, and Burning ash slayers. It took only two of them to conquer three realms in Pervolsima," Eris states. Everyone in the room either gave a shocked look or gasped. Mikalae closes his eyes.

"Conquered? Does that mean they'll attempt to conquer Magicae when they attack the capital?" Melkin asked fretted. "No, they'd be fools to not focus their might on the capital," Eris replied. "Why the hell would they conquer us? I thought the only thing they wanted was the return of the Dragon King," Jubi retorted. Quweiene bangs her fist on the table and stands abruptly and grabs almost everyone's attention.

"And what do you think the Dragon King wants? Peace and love. NO! He wants war and blood. That's exactly why we're going to get rid of that bastard before the slayers free him," condemned Quwe.

King Henry laughs and Quweiene sits back down. Eris nudges him, telling him to stop. Eris then looks at Mike slumped in his chair with his eyes closed. Eris frowns.

"Prince Mikalae?" Eris bellows across the room and everyone looks at Mike, but Mike doesn't respond. Jivan looks at Mike and his eyes glow pink. He's using mind magic.

"He's dreaming into the Dark Realm, Your Majesty," Jesse tells Eris. "For what?" Eris queries.

"For information," Mikalae says slowly and drowsily while still asleep. Eris then calms down. "Jivan, do the spell, visual and audio," he says slowly and drowsily. Jivan places his hand on Mike's forehead and Jivan's eyes glow pink. He removes his hand and creates a pink bow and arrow with his magic. "Mind magic: Screen Arrow," Jivan shouts. The arrow is then launched into the back wall where everyone can see. A big magic screen then appears on the wall. There they see what Prince Mikalae sees, a dark forest with black leaves on its trees under a dark gray sky.

Mikalae walks deeper into the forest and finds an area with trees surrounding a small grass field. There, the Dragon stands before him, like he knew Mikaelae was coming. The Dragon King chuckles mischievously.

"Finally! Here you are, young dreamer,"
