Hill originally thought that the Forest of the Elves was planning to put on a show, letting this group of Dark Moon Elves settle their internal disputes on their own.
If a few could stay, they would stay. If they couldn't stay, the unlucky ones would just be those who wanted to become the lords of the Dark Moon Elves.
