After removing his cloak and putting it over Princess Marie, he stepped behind her and drew his sword with his left arm. He took a deep breath to slow his heart - the princess's presence had overwhelmed him even before he saw the monster.
Despite Henry's warning not to look, Princess Marie couldn't help peeking at the knight slowly walking towards the forest. He didn't waver even for a moment.
It was her first run-in with a monster but she wasn't scared in the slightest.
Being a thoughtless vermin that only lived off of its disgusting instincts, the goblin ran from the cover of an evergreen bush holding a club above its head. It had no plan. Its only goal was to attack and see if there was something shiny or edible on the people it was running up on.
