Clyde's blade met the lunging claw and the shock of impact rolled out like thunder through the ruined chamber.
But this time, he didn't just block. He surged forward with it with his smooth predatory movement that faster than before.
Lightning surged into the blade, arcing through the contact point.
The creature shrieked—truly shrieked this time—and for a brief instant, the haze peeled back.
And Clyde saw it.
Not just a blur or suggestion. Clyde can see the real form.
There were twisted limbs that folded in strange geometry like a beast stitched from broken body paets togethet. Its body was black-glass flesh wrapped in writhing muscle, and its eyes—if they were eyes—were small orbiting spheres of red glow that drifted in the space around its head like satellites.
But then it still manages to disengage itself again even after getting hit with the lightning.
