The demon's incoming attack stopped moments before it could touch the ground, and jolly laughter greeted everyone's ears. Brutus walked forward, straining his face during his laughter while holding one arm towards the colossal demon while swatting wooden demons away with the other.
"I never expected that to wake me up this morning. Take this chance to finish it while I hold it here; I can't do this for long!" Brutus maintained his strained smile.
"You were sleeping through this?! Whatever, I'm glad you're here!" Gerard coughed, and a spray of blood escaped his mouth.
"I need to hold out a bit longer."
Blood seeped from his eyes and ears.
"Jerrick, protect me while I destroy the roots!" Sprite rushed forward.
