Harry rushed to check on the unconscious Reina. He held her hand and felt for a pulse, breathing a sigh of relief when he felt it. "Call the ambulance now". He shouted at the servants around before carrying her and hurriedly striding away. A terrified and crying Giselle had her assistant pushed the wheelchair, following her brother.
Only Sasha and Soraya were left behind. Seeing her nonchalant expression, Soraya approached her and said,"You don't seem surprised at what has happened. As a matter of fact, you are completely cold and apathetic. Why?".
Sasha looked at Soraya coldly and replied,"What are you insinuating?.I don't like her so why should I pretend that I do. She's just a lowly surrogate. Her life and death has nothing to do with me. You could also be blamed for it since you also don't like her. Stop being a hypocrite in front of me. It's disgusting to watch".She walked away.
At the hospital, Reina received immediate treatment. The doctor approached an anxious looking Harry to tell him that Reina's now out of danger. Fortunately the fall wasn't life threatening. But she has sustained a broken arm, twisted her right foot and bruised her head.
Harry finally breathed a sigh of relief and went inside her room. Seeing her lying down on the bed, helpless and pale. Her face bruised from the impact, Harry eyes turned red. He sat beside her and gently took her hand in his.
When she fell off that horse, watching her unconscious body lying there without moving, he felt like he has teleported back to the day his parents died. Seeing their lifeless bodies lying down and covered with white sheets.
The horror and pain he felt shook his soul. If something worse had happened to Reina too, he wouldn't know how to live on. "Sorry. I'm sorry for putting you in harm's way. For not protecting you from getting hurt". He whispered into her ear, his voice choked with emotion. He gently kissed her on the forehead.
At the Zelkowicz mansion, Old madame was having a fit. "Who dares to fire a gun without permission and that at a close range causing this accident.Who was so bold?".She angrily hit the floor with her walking cane.
"Old madame, please quelled your anger. It was the mistake of a mindless servant. He wanted to chase away a flock of crows and shot in the air. It wasn't intentional" The butler quickly apologize, explaining what happened to be an accident. However, Old madame was even more dissatisfied.
"It wasn't intentional?. Could you imagined the consequences if it was my grandson who fell off that horse? Even if I send you to hell, it'll not be enough to atone for your carelessness".Old madame shouted, her eyes glare angrily at the culprit.
Terrified, the male worker who had fired the gun quickly got on his knees, sobbing and begging Old madame to spare him. He didn't know that the heir was riding at the stable. Old madame looked at him with disgust and ultimately ordered for him to be thrown out of the estate.
She slowly regained consciousness. She winced in pain as every part of her body hurts.Her eyes showed fear when she remembered falling off the horse. She found Harry sitting beside her with his head down.
He seemed to have fallen asleep. Her eyes turned soft with love, she raised her hand to caressed his hair. Feeling her touch, Harry quickly raised his head, looking alert and was surprised to find Reina awake.
"You're finally awake" He excitedly hugged her. "I don't think I can ride that horse anymore. I'm not very good at it",Reina said softy, smiling sheepishly.
"I'm sorry for letting this happen to you. Forgive me" Harry apologized. Reina shook her head and replied,"It wasn't your fault. I'm already happy to have you here with me".
Darwin arrived at the hospital to meet Harry.
"I heard what happened to your little beauty. How's she doing?"He asked.
"She's going to be discharged tomorrow. I'm going back to get to the bottom of this". Harry and Darwin left the hospital and drove to the mansion.
Old madame, Giselle and Sasha were waiting for him at the main house.
"How's she doing?.Old madame asked.
"Grandma shouldn't worry. She's out of danger and only sustained minor injury. She'll be discharged tomorrow". They breathed a sighed of relief. However, with her head lowered, Sasha's nails harshly dug into her palm, her eyes filled with hatred. The bitch didn't die and managed to get away easily. How hateful!.
"Where is the person responsible for this?" Harry asked, his expression cold.
"Well, that slowly wretch had been fired. It was his carelessness that caused this mess".Lady Mina replied.
At his study, Harry instructs a guard,"Find out about that worker. I want you to find out everything about him. I want that info tomorrow".The guard nodded and left.
Left alone, Darwin asked,"You don't think this was an accident?"
"An accident?" Harry snorted coldly."I don't think so. He didn't fire that gun sooner or later but the exact time when Reina was the one in control of the horse. I don't believe in such a coincidence".
"I told you to watch your beauty carefully. It hasn't even been that long and others are already impatient enough to move their hand".Darwin sighed. "I was too careless. It won't happen again" Harry vowed solemnly.
