Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 Leaving Prison

The Half-plane Prison was a special prison in the Demon King City. Because of its unique existence in the Main Plane's crack, it made it difficult for those without Half-plane access rights to freely come and go.

The Demon King's lineage, however, was the group with the highest level of access.

Even though after extracting Mana from Satan Ye, Yila had the ability to rely on the Crimson Dragon and Rune Bond to break through the Half-plane... no one could imprison a Governor with ample wing reserves.

But since Satan Ye had opened the prison door, he naturally didn't have to go through the trouble of breaking through...

"..."

Yila strolled down the corridor towards the end as if it were his own garden. The glowing passage ended in the "gate" of the Half-plane Prison, but if the gate wasn't opened, it was merely a path leading to the next corridor.

"Are you following me?"

Yila asked, looking at Satan Ye who trailed behind him. He met her crimson dragon eyes and then continued as he walked away, "Are you here to supervise my departure from Demon King City?"

"No, I just have no reason to stay in the prison."

Satan Ye responded with a curious look at Yila. Because she had come to the prison to see Yila, now that he was released, she had no reason to stay.

"Ah, that's true..."

For Yila, who answered like this, the little Demon King named Satan Ye didn't say much. She just followed him to leave the Half-plane Prison, suddenly remembering something, and asked, "What were the circumstances of your conviction by the Empire?"

The question was meaningless... at least to Satan Ye.

No matter Yila's answer, for her, it was merely ordinary gossip and not valuable intelligence. In other words, the question was purely to satisfy her curiosity.

Before being the Demon King, Satan Ye was just a regular little girl.

Yila felt quite relieved to finally see a normal little girl. Compared to the Empress he was familiar with, Satan Ye seemed too much like a normal person... unlike someone who was an Empress before being a regular girl.

"That would require starting from a long time ago..."

Yila said, talking about the circumstances, "It was my first day of vacation. I proposed an idea to Isabella. I told her..."

As Yila recalled, Satan Ye also asked her question, "Wait, did you say vacation? But aren't you... I've heard stories about you, usually describing you as 'tireless.' Do you need a vacation?"

*What a strange description...*

Yila thought helplessly, stopping his recount of the circumstances, and became curious about another matter, "What do monsters say I am like?"

But as soon as he spoke, he didn't want to know the answer.

"Forget it, I don't want to know..."

"I told Isabella, 'To prepare food for the wars against the duchy and the demon clan on both fronts, nobles need to donate grain. If they donate a lot, they might get a promotion. If they don't want to donate grain, they can use land instead.'"

Listening to Yila, Satan Ye's eyes widened. She said, "So, the Empire is about to go to war with the Duke Hazad? And did you say the Empire would stop its war with us?"

Yila nodded lightly, "Yes."

"Hmm, okay. So what happened next? Why did Empress Isabella subsequently want to capture you?"

Even if Satan Ye had such doubts, Yila himself didn't fully understand. He said, "Isabella told me to go on vacation first, so I didn't pay much attention and decided to discuss it after my vacation."

"Then, during my vacation, I noticed that the wind direction in the Imperial Capital was changing... the subsequent events, you should have gathered the relevant intelligence."

"..."

Yila could clearly understand that the nobles were behind this, but if Isabella had been resolute, he wouldn't have had to care about any noble's opinion.

In other words, Isabella wanted to use this opportunity to grant Yila his freedom... she understood very well that the Empire needed Yila, but Yila did not need to be attached to the Empire.

Although it was correct, however...

"Let nobles buy titles, and use land as collateral for grain..."

Even someone without much concept of "nobles" like Satan Ye could sense something. She realized the reason Yila made that suggestion. She said, "You were helping her, right?"

That was indeed the case.

Satan Ye didn't understand why Isabella would refuse land that belonged to her, but Yila understood... Isabella didn't refuse; she was just annoyed by his nagging.

In other words, it was simply to 'give a slight kick to show her dissatisfaction,' but what the nobles did was to 'thrust a knife into her hand when she couldn't defend herself'... but there was no need to explain this to the Demon King in front of him.

"The Empire will become what I dreamed of... equal, calm, eternal, authoritarian."

Yila walked into the light at the end of the corridor first. He turned to look at the little Demon King and said, "If there is a chance, we will meet again... I believe that time won't be too far away."

Yila left Satan Ye with a silhouette entering the light. It was worth mentioning... Yila was very handsome and well-proportioned, so the silhouette was quite appealing.

"Wait..."

Satan Ye, realizing something, tried to stop him, but it was too late. She hurriedly followed him into the light... arriving in the main plane of the Demon King City.

What greeted Satan Ye was Yila, surrounded by swords, weapons, and limbs. Her subordinates, who had no idea about the situation, treated Yila, who had rushed out of the Half-plane Prison, as an enemy.

Though, he was indeed somewhat of an enemy.

"Ah, right on time... it seems our moment to reunite is now."

Yila turned and smiled. He had indeed said it correctly earlier; the reunion time was not too far away... it was less than ten seconds apart.

"Yila Elkaras?!"

"What have you done to the Demon King... Oh, you came out."

"Governor... gulp~"

"..."

It seemed the people in the Demon King City's hall were quite enthusiastic about Yila. However, he felt this kind of enthusiasm was slightly overwhelming. Interestingly... despite the grudges, no one made the first move against Yila.

"Mr. Yila! Please calm down..."

Even Satan Ye hoped that Yila would calm down, more so than those in the Demon King City...

...

*What kind of image do I have in the Demon King Territory?* Could it really be to the extent of "stopping the little monsters from crying at night"?
