Chapter 30 - Chapter 29: Demon King Territory Approaches Utopia

Giant bees were large magic creatures resembling massive honeybees, almost half the height of a person... This was human perception, as humans tended to label all magic creatures simply as "magic creatures."

However, in the Demon King Territory, magic creatures referred to those with a certain level of intelligence as "magic creatures" and those without intelligence as "beasts."

Although there was no taboo regarding the labels and even if one got them wrong, it wouldn't cause a fuss, it was still necessary to differentiate them for convenience in naming.

Yila and the Black Flame Headless Knight rode together on a horse since Yila still couldn't ride a horse, thus naturally the Black Flame Headless Knight was in charge of the reins.

After picking up the still somewhat drowsy Satan Ye, he, Satan Ye, and Hilena headed to the residence of the Insect Leader and the Headless Knight Leader, then went to the Demon King Territory's camp to convene the Headless Knights and Insect Men.

How to put it? Hmm... they practically bypassed any cumbersome procedures.

Yila explained the situation to the two leaders and then left it up to them to decide how many troops to bring. Even though they didn't know at that moment it was Satan Ye's intention, the mobilization was very free and casual, though undeniably quick.

*If Yila had a conspiracy, they would have been the criminals who buried the Demon King's troops, but Yila did not, so he became synonymous with "quick" and "decisive."*

*Simply saying, "Bring your people to help me" could move part of the army—it truly felt like a remarkably astonishing and fascinating thing, albeit casting doubt on its safety.*

But it was precisely because of such reasons that before the Empire had a Governor, they were defeated repeatedly by magic creatures.

It's worth mentioning that nearly every magic creature had combat ability, but now the main combat force in the Demon King's army consisted of three specific races: Headless Knights (cavalry units), Black Knights (infantry units), and Insect-men Clan (land and air).

However, neither the Black Knights nor the Headless Knights were good at forest battles, so this time the Headless Knights were summoned merely for transporting the Insect Men.

Once they reached their destination, the Headless Knights would encircle the target area, and the Insect-men Clan would proceed with the attack.

Within the Insect-men Clan, like those seen at morning meetings, the ones draped in insect shells with heads resembling beetles, were standard insect warriors—a close combat profession, the Insect-man Samurai.

The beetle insect-men were the most numerous, followed by spider, centipede, and scorpion insect-men. Although they were insect-men, Yila knew they were not truly insects, rather they should be classified as arthropods. But it didn't matter since the Insect-men Clan could rightfully be called "Shell Monster Clan" or something similar.

Yila vaguely remembered that on the battlefield, besides sparingly using the precious wings of the "Crimson Dragon," the Insect-men Clan's power was also not used sparingly.

The Insect-men Clan's fourth wing column was highly practical, a long staff that could freely change shape. If given the chance, Yila would preferably get some Mana from the Insect-men Clan, then request the Insect Leader to try it out.

However...

Yila pondered as he looked at the Black Flame Headless Knight riding in front of him, suddenly thinking... the second wing column of the Headless Knight was very useful, capable of summoning automated intelligent warhorses similar to headless warhorses.

While Yila was contemplative, the voice of a mature lady sounded from the armor in front of him, engaging in conversation: "Mr. Yila, giant bees' blood and bones, neither you nor the Insect-men Clan have any use for them, right?"

"None."

Yila replied.

"We don't either."

The Insect Leader sitting behind another headless knight responded to the Black Flame Headless Knight.

"Neither do we."

The little fairy sitting on Yila's shoulder chimed in.

"Then, this slaughter can be used to create new Headless Knights. Later at the morning meeting, I'll ask everyone if they need them, but surely little black will need the bodies. For undead, continuous battle and slaughter are the main themes."

The Black Flame Headless Knight said, which was within Yila's expectations since both Headless Knights and Black Knights were undead creatures—Headless Knights formed from warriors' spirits, and Black Knights from warriors' undying bodies.

Perfectly utilized, indeed.

"Of course, I'm talking about conventional circumstances."

After expressing his longing for combat, the Headless Knight immediately supplemented: "If a Governor like you appears on the battlefield, then it's best not to have that kind of main theme to the battles."

Indeed, although many magic creatures could subsist on war, facing the absurd existence known as "Governor," the replenishing speed might not catch up with the killing speed.

Precision, efficiency, elegance, indifference—these characteristics marked the essence of the **Governor**. The biggest difference between **Governor** and other professions was its specificity.

Mages aimed to explore magic and truth; combat was supplementary. Warriors fought primarily, with slaughter being secondary. Thus, regardless of the strength of individuals, it was hard to change the trajectory of a war.

For wars exceeding human lifespans, the tactical effect of "decapitation operations" became infinitely minimized.

However, only **Governors** could change the course of wars, owing to their "mass production" and "target specificity." Born to efficiently slaughter magic creatures, they were naturally unbeatable in the magic creature battlefield.

While Yila was contemplating...

"Mr. Yila, what you said this morning."

Holding Hilena's waist as she rode, Satan Ye asked... If this were the empire period, someone would already have begun blaming Yila for his rebellious words.

If this were the empire, this would amount to interrogation arrest, always worrying about being retributed by the emperor.

But here, Yila dared guarantee he wouldn't face any doubt. Satan Ye surely sought to ask something else, not his disrespect towards the royal family.

"Hmm?"

Yila voiced his confusion, allowing Satan Ye to continue asking... Yes, this demon king might even hesitate to ask, posing just half a question for Yila to avoid explaining if he didn't want to.

"The nation where one can live contentedly, what is it like?"

"..."

Facing curious Satan Ye and Hilena, curious Black Flame Headless Knight, and Insect Leader... Could you please focus on controlling the horse instead of turning around to look?

Yila silently grumbled, organizing his thoughts a bit, he said: "Powerful enough that no one dares to wage war against it, peaceful enough not to start wars with any nation, where everyone has enough to eat and no one struggles for survival, no one abuses power for oppression, one can live happily without deception or flattery... many more, but that's about it."

"..."

These conditions seemed somewhat familiar.

"But, Demon King Territory is already close, right..."

Satan Ye wondered aloud.

"..."

Yes, except for power and survival.
