In a giant pot, several segments of pure white "tree core" kept floating up and down. After the bark of the Ancient Priest Tree was peeled off, the trunk looked like these white tubers.
Soaking in water and detoxifying with high heat was the only edible method specified. Ordinary boiling wouldn't work; it had to be constantly boiled for three to four hours, until all the tubers turned thoroughly cooked.
The duration could only be long, not short. Complete soaking and high heat were indispensable, and continuous stirring could accelerate the detoxification process, allowing the food to become edible more quickly.
"Is it good now, Mr. Yila?"
Feeling that enough time had passed, Mr. Lime asked, watching his small slime helper standing on a stool, continuously stirring the pot with a big spoon.
Five hours had already passed.
