"Captain... the... painting... came... to life..."
The words from the bandaged man made Charles's scalp tingle, and almost subconsciously, he crumbled the sheet of paper in his hand into a ball and threw it toward the nearby porthole.
With a "crack," the porthole glass was shattered by Charles's bullet, and the ball of paper flew out with the bits of broken glass.
In the instant that the paper ball flew out, Charles could even see a writhing black tentacle stretching out from it.
"Folks, quick! Get out of here!" Charles shouted loudly to those around him.
With a low rumble, the Unicorne quickly left its former position.
"Why did you throw it out? It was just about to come out, and you interrupted it. That wasn't very nice." Tuba lay propped up on the round porthole, expressing his regret.
The bandaged man stood up, pulling him back, refusing to let him look any longer.
