They moved slowly.
The gate was only a hundred meters ahead—looming, enormous, and carved with shifting abyssal runes that didn't stay still when he looked at them. It pulsed with an eerie, low frequency that vibrated through their bones.
Each step closer made the air denser, colder, like they were walking deeper into something alive.
But the path?
It wasn't safe. Not even close.
The smooth obsidian floor leading to the gate looked like polished glass at first—but the moment Allen stepped onto it, a faint clicking echoed from the walls.
"Wait," Jane said. "Something's not—"
