The first Abyssal Knight crashed forward, dragging a molten blade that left a trench of fire in the stone. Its purple-lit eyes locked onto Allen with the single-minded hunger of a war beast.
Allen lunged to meet it, cloak snapping behind him like a banner soaked in blood. His sword met the knight's in a ringing clash that shook the ground, and the girls burst into motion behind him.
Their plan was simple. Brutal. Effective.
Concentrate.
Target one knight at a time.
Overwhelm.
Move to the next.
Vivian's whip lashed the knight's arms, locking its massive sword momentarily. Shea shot razor-feather projectiles into its joints, while Bella hurled twin lances of flame and ice that burst against its cursed armor. Jane's undead clawed at its legs, holding it down just long enough for Allen to drive his sword straight through the blackened chestplate.
The knight crumpled, purple fire sputtering out.
