Before anyone noticed, Fang was already back down on the floor, staring up at the amorphous blob on top. Her gaze was serene, unfaltering, and seemingly filled with prayer.
'Did Fang start to worship this goddess, perhaps?'
Just as I was wondering such things...
"Huh?"
The blob suddenly moved. It jumped down from the mural, splattering down on the ground like a blot of black paint. I thought it died from that, actually, but it slowly gathered its body into a single sphere once more before slowly hopping toward Fang.
Its motion slightly reminded me of Ember when she was still a literal slime... Wait, this is no time to be sentimental!
I jumped before Fang and the blob, glaring at it. I don't know what it's purpose was, but I can't simply let it approach Fang like that!
"It's fine, Leader."
But Fang herself didn't seem to be scared of the blob. As she patted my shoulder, gently pushing me to the side, the blob finally reached right before her.
