No one received calls or dialed successfully then. And this had been going on for ten minutes!
To make things worse, the front door of the hotel was completely blocked!
No signal! It was clearly made on purpose.
There were quite a few big names present. However, they usually came with their families to be protected by one bodyguard.
No one was going to go out on a limb and have their bodyguard do something violent when things were not sure and no personal safety was involved.
The actresses were gathered at the same table, probably not on good terms in the past, but now they were all exchanging words and discussing what was going on.
The owner of the pharmaceutical plant that hosted the reception stepped into the middle. He took the microphone handed to him by the waiter, and said briefly, "Everyone settle down for a moment. Everything will proceed as usual."
