It was only when Charles came out to call Jackson back in that he stopped immersing himself in the imagination of having a daughter.
After he entered the room, Carly was still holding Charles' phone.
She said, "I've looked at this girl's photos. She's pretty, elegant and charismatic! I'd rate her a perfect score. Charles, how is she not good enough for you?"
Charles' body stiffened when he heard that. Just when he was about to sit down, he glanced at Jackson who was on the opposite couch.
With a deep voice, Charles said to his mother, "Mom, don't spout nonsense! It's not that she's not good enough for me. Heck, even a hundred of me won't be good enough for her."
"What? You're not good enough for her? That's ridiculous. Since Mr. Stone has such high hopes for you, it means that he thinks both of you are compatible," replied Carly, feeling puzzled.
