Around lunchtime, Nidia's cell phone started to ring incessantly.
She couldn't even keep track of how many times it had rung the entire morning.
At the very beginning, Old Mr. Roberts had called to ask her if she was busy and could spare some time to have lunch at the Roberts Manor. Apparently, he had roasted a large turkey at home.
Nidia couldn't head there just for lunch. It was too far of a distance, and she had to return to the company early in the afternoon. Thus, she had no choice but to decline.
Then Lavanya called.
The topic still revolved around lunch.
When her cell phone vibrated again, Nidia glanced at the caller ID on the screen --Mr. Cunningham.
Nidia panicked as she picked up the cell phone. She had a bad premonition.
"Hello?" She answered the call in the end.
There was no point hiding.
His low and gentle voice could be heard. As Nidia expected, he asked, "Are you busy? I will pick you up in twenty minutes. Let's have lunch together."
