Rola stood on the platform's edge, waiting for the command to go. So far, the fleet was holding station, keeping to its assigned positions.
"we discover multi-universe's wormhole to be stable," Chikra said from the bridge. "may take several hours before it opens."
"then we wait," Rola said, her voice calm.
The Empress of the Aeluon Empire waited, watching the green-gold light of the wormhole shimmering under the ship's lights.
Her thoughts churned, her mind racing through possibilities. Did the Vastness exist? Was it real? Had they all just lived their entire lives in the wrong reality?
Or had they simply never looked hard enough?
In the end, she couldn't help but wonder if she'd ever find the answers. Even if she did, there was no way she could convince anyone else.
