*~*Lex's POV*~*
"Lend a hand?" Rudy asked, a note of disbelief in his voice. I didn't think I had been so openly hostile or angry toward him. I had thought about his priorities, but I had not expressed any doubts to him openly.
"You're an exceptionally skilled warrior, so I would like you to assist me."
"Yeah, sure thing." Rudy's face cracked into a smile so bright that it was nearly blinding. He was an innocent soul, for the most part, and I liked that about him. He was a light in Talia's world that I knew she never wanted to see extinguished. And if I could repair any damage I'd done before, then it would be all the better.
"Great. I'm about to judge their combat skills. So, I would like you to help me assess them. It would be nice to know where we need to begin with their training."
"That's understandable. Though, if I am being honest, they will likely need to be started at the beginning. From what you and Talia told me yesterday, they are not very skilled at all."
"Hey."
