Ash had to convince herself that she had made the best possible decisions using what she had available to her and that there would be times when she would have to make some other difficult decisions in the future.
Some of those decisions would lead her closer to her goal, while some others would be made based on different circumstances she would have placed herself in, or she would have found herself in.
The outcomes she wanted would not always be what she would get, even if she tried to make the best possible decision that she could make with what would be available to her.
All that she could do was to make full use of each of the existing variables to be able to navigate through everything the best that she could while trying not to make too many sacrifices and mistakes along the way.
She had hardened her heart a little more over the time that had passed as she committed more toward her current goals.
