It was then, that Su Yan felt it. The overwhelming depth to the power in the battlefield. "It's so much… And, this…" Her body grew, and the intensity of her cultivation soared to new heights, her source reaching the full might of the Divine Phoenix realm. "It's like he's thanking me for everything?" …
"Sister Su, this strength I feel welling up. Is this just due to his own presence?"
"He's realizing the dream of the original owner of my source."
"In that case, I'd bet he's going to win. When he returns home, we can have a giant party in celebration. Let's start procuring the wine."
"It'll be the first time some of our other children drink any too."
"That was quite the adorable pact they made with each other. They all want their first drink to be with their big brother."
"Oh look! Someone else is coming to join the fight."
The new arrivals that joined the battle were none other than the twins, Sun's Burning Shine, and Moon's Nether Glimmer! The two upon arrival continued to fly straight, causing Ink to become encased in the might of Yin-Yang. The destructive capacity of their powers combined, it certainly didn't feel good at all.
Ink wailed in agony, though he wasn't hurt nearly as bad. "Just because you have a couple of helpers, doesn't mean you're going to beat me, you. DAMN. BRAT!" Ink's thick aura filled the void.
I grit my teeth, returning to full control over my new found power. I let out a roar, one riddled with purpose, power, and intent. This roar was heard all the way back with the other mountain passes.
The heightened powers we both were using, could even be felt from other areas far away from the 3000 Worlds. Masters in these places, pissed themselves upon feeling the sliver of power they did.
The twins gained numerous injuries within seconds. It was clear that they were indeed powerful. And they could have helped before. They're missing something to stabilize their powers thus they were too weak to continue standing here.
The void filled with inky tendrils, and arcing bolts. The fierce battle between these two powers was nothing short of unimaginable for many. Most wrote this battle off as a battle between god and the devil, righteousness vs evil. I couldn't blame them, after all, I only recently acquired this power and had very little understanding of it. So writing it off as the work of gods beyond their comprehension is fair to some degree.
In this display of might, Ink was shocked, he began sweating profusely. "How? HOW?"
"I'm not going down without a hell of a fight! And even if you do defeat me, I will seal you away! THIS WAR ENDS WITH US!"
Ink, terrified, yet charged forward with the full intent to kill, hit me right across the face. "What?" I rotated back, pushing his fist out of the way with my cheek.
"You fight thunder incarnate… AND YOU THINK A PUNCH LIKE THAT IS GOING END IT! I EAT THOSE FOR BREAKFAST!"
With a full throttled cycle, I hit Ink's chest with a rapid wing chun style barrage. Every hit generated a blow capable of obliterating the entire 3000 worlds and ink battlefield combined. Within the span of half a breath, Ink reeled in pain, floating back as he spat up blood, blood that instantly evaporated in the presence of my lightning.
"The fuck was-" Ink coughed. "that?"
"A sample."
Ink, recovering his composure. A testament to the strength he possesses. "I think it's time we end this."
A rage filled Ink, charged in once again, this time though, I responded in kind. The battle picked up speed, and eventually no one but the twins could see what was going on. They followed the progress of the battle as closely as they could. Eventually traveling all the way to the Ink Battlefield.
The results of this battle were truly devastating, with every blow scars formed in the void, with every special attack the world wailed in pain. Yet, even though it had to endure so much punishment, the world refused to kick me out, resisting its own natural self defense mechanisms. A sentiment I respected, and returned the favor, generating numerous chaos storms providing a source of energy as my thanks.
Over the next handful of months, the Human army licked its wounds as they did their best to keep track of the battle. They had a bright feeling deep down in their very core. This allowed them to relax, comforting themselves in the thought of victory. However, the ones who could barely manage keeping up with the fight's after images, they had a different outlook.
The 9th ranks gathered, to share bits of information, they were attempting to form an accurate account of the battle. Though it was difficult with Smiles there, her worry grew with each passing moment.
Yang Kai, was in the same area, he had fully recovered his strength. Though he wasn't fighting right now, he felt ill at ease. "Smiles, I-"
"Don't say it. We won't know the result until it arrives."
"I know, but this fight… I hate it."
Cang stroked his beard, with an interested sideways glance. "You know, your son is fighting a battle at a level we can't comprehend. Even with all of us here, it's all we can do to record a portion of the fight. Try to-"
"He is my son, surely not saying I shouldn't be worried."
"No, just that you should be more worried about yourself. You seem to be struggling to… Oh, hey, the fight seems to be winding down."
With such a long and exhausting battle, Ink and I had finally worn each other down enough that the others could comprehend what was going on again. It was a good thing, but also bad precisely because they could tell.
For starters, I had lost that combination transformation, half of my body was gone. Ink on the other hand was looking much less worse for wear than I was. That said, it was clear he was completely exhausted beyond belief, stumbling to remain conscious. Then a smirk widened on his face.
"AHAHAHA! You're definitely the toughest opponent I've had in a long time. If you hadn't been so inexperienced, I may have actually been killed. But this time…" His cackling turned into a sinister smile. "You're going to die."
The Human Army fell silent.
