'It was a weird thing,' Rowan admitted to himself, 'to see a version of you being pummeled by mortals, and be glad that it is happening.'
He knew it could not last, these brave mortals had gone above and beyond what they should be capable of. He was the one who made the plans, calculated the power and Aether that could be channeled by them, even adjusting it far past their limits in case of any last-minute fluctuation of power that would come as a result of extreme emotions that was usually present at the end of life.
However, what was happening here was far above his expectations and they were all exuding such great power from their every act that he was forced to witness, Rowan himself, probably the greatest immortal at his present dimensional level and beyond it, the Eclipsed Immortal, Watcher over all of creation, the Beginning and the End of all things, he was forced to watch this mortals battle and acknowledge that he was wrong.
