CHAPTER 110: MAKING PLANS
"This event will be a game-changer," Diana declared, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's the perfect platform to expand our fanbase."
"But how will we get people to come and patronize our business.? I still don't get how this helps us" Valerie asked, her brow furrowed.
"We'll use this event for publicity" Diana went on to address Valerie's question.
"That is how i know it can increase our fan base. Depending on how hard I work for it" She added. "Which is why I'm going to give it my all".
*On the day of the event, I'll get invitations for each of you. You will all come with your business cards. And seeing I'm working on the guest list, sharing your cards, networking and sweet-talking the guests shouldn't be too difficult,"
"We'll use this event to create buzz," Diana explained. "Social media, press releases, everything we've got."
"And what about the guests?" Sandra inquired. "How do we convince them to come?"
Diana smiled. "That's where you ladies come in. Charm, charisma, and a little bit of sweet talking. You're all experts in that department."
"But will this really work?" Valerie asked.
"It should, Val. And if it doesn't, there are still other avenues we can explore. Besides, this isn't the only thing we'll be doing that day," Diana assured her. "Sandra, I'm going to need something else from you," she added suddenly.
"Anything, boss!" Sandra grinned.
Diana smirked as the girls laughed. "I need a groundbreaking story. There will definitely be directors at the event, and I need us to impress them too with your story."
Sandra smiled. "You make it sound so easy."
"I'm just confident, that's all. Well, at least on the surface," Diana replied, her tone playful.
Sandra patted her arm and nodded. "I could send you all my works, and you can choose one. I'll just send the synopsis."
"Great idea," Diana agreed.
"Does Toby know?" Sandra asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
"Know what?" Diana responded, confused.
"That you're married and pregnant?" Sandra clarified.
Diana hesitated, a flicker of sadness crossing her face before sighing. "Our marriage isn't exactly public knowledge, Sandra, and the pregnancy... even less so. Besides, not many people know us yet".
"So you don't plan on telling him?" Grace asked.
"I'm not sure, Grace and with the way things are going, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to tell him." Diana admitted.
"What if he finds out?" Grace asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Diana replied, her voice firm. "For now, let's focus on making this event a success."
"Well, have you seen that ring on your finger?" Valerie pointed out. "It's not exactly discreet."
Diana glanced at her hand and muttered, "Damn."
"Yeah, I thought so too," Monica added, and Diana smiled.
"What if we don't wear our rings?" Sandra suggested. "Our husbands don't want the world to know we're married to them, and we need to do this. I'm sure they won't mind, right?"
Valerie looked sad, as if she might cry. "Sandra, have you seen our husbands? They always wear their rings proudly. Why should we do otherwise?"
"Oh boy," Grace sighed, slumping back in her chair. The others followed suit, sinking into their seats.
"And everything might just fall apart if you tell Toby you're married, Diana," Monica concluded, her voice filled with concern.
A wave of disappointment washed over the women. They knew the risks, the potential consequences of keeping their marital status a secret. But they also understood Diana's reasons. The conclusion still didn't make anything better.
