Gu Lanshan took a breath of air and found it very fresh. On a whim, she walked down the cobblestone path toward the back garden, where a servant was tending the flowerbeds. Seeing Gu Lanshan approaching, the servant stopped his work and respectfully called out, "Lady Shan."
Gu Lanshan smiled and nodded slightly. She loved flowers, and on weekends, when she was free, she would come here to water them, sometimes instructing the servants on how to care for them. She glanced around the flowerbed and astutely noticed several new varieties of flowers had been added.
Gu Lanshan excitedly examined the new flowers, touching one pot and then looking at another plant, and she found a few Clivia among the newly added ones, blooming with orange umbrella-shaped flowers.
