Sheng Shi covered his eyes for a long, long time before he slowly drew a tissue from nearby and gently wiped his face. He sat by the bed, watching the woman who was deeply asleep.
He looked for a long, long time, then he slowly lowered his head, kissed the corner of her lips, and said, "Chu Chu, I love you."
He lowered his head again, kissed her forehead, and said, "Chu Chu, I'm sorry."
He curled his lips into a smile, laughed softly, then lowered his head once more, kissed her eyelids, and said, "Chu Chu, good night."
Only then did Sheng Shi stand up, go to the bathroom, take a shower, and then get into bed, holding her in his arms and closing his eyes.
He actually couldn't sleep at all, but he just held her like that.
He wondered deep down what he should do next? What could he do for her? How could he make her completely forget the impact of the terrible things he had done to her?
Sheng Shi didn't know how long he had thought before he finally fell into a deep sleep.
